Tarsya Mercer and I had the beautiful opportunity to attend the Lowcountry Juneteenth Week luncheon as part of the amazing Juneteenth Festivities!
Honorees included -
Mr. Lonnie Hamilton, III the first African American Council Member, accomplished saxophonist and retired band director!
Also, Judge Arthur McFarland & retired from the City of Charleston after devoting 33 years of service!

These honorees allowed the guests to hear, firsthand their stories that makeup the success of who they are today! We sat in awe as laughter and gratitude filled the room!

I am honored to be a part of recognizing excellence and gaining knowledge of Charleston’s Black History!

Job well done to the team at Lowcountry Juneteenth Week!
