The life of a studio florist is a mix of busy and not so busy - last weekend delivered a wedding, a bridal bouquet, and a graduation party, each with their own color palette! So this was where floral math, color and texture combining was paramount in delivering the best possible outcomes 🙏❤️💐
Not to mention after a major holiday everything is behind a day, including shipping, so I am thankful for my colleagues having my back in securing product and allowing me for cutting from their own growing garden! Thank you and Roadside Blooms

For most Danish people May 4th is not about Star Wars; it is a reminder of the liberation of Denmark of German occupation under WW2. The black out curtains were removed and burnt and people lit candles and put them in their windows everywhere. I can only imagine the emotional impact that had on the nation after the darkness.
Since then Danes everywhere light candles on May 4th in remembrance and as a reminder not to let this happen again - I am forever hoping we humans learn aggression, oppression, war is not the way.

Today our Queen, the Queen of Denmark abdicated and her son, Frederik became King Frederik X of Denmark and his Queen, Queen Mary with her Tasmanian roots. The oldest kingdom in the world is still in good hands.

Here’s goodbye to 2023, like every year before you, there were lowlights and highlights, sunny days and wind, and wayyy to much rain. I got to do what I love, designing with botanicals, big and small events, deliveries, workshops - every moment brought new connections and experiences.
I am fortunate to get to work with and for some amazing designers and I look forward to more of that in 2024.
I decided to wave 2023 goodbye with a smile, cause as we all know, “there is no crying in floristry” ( at least not when your client is watching ;) ) Here is to a blooming 2024

Delivery of our last event/private party in 2023 - we do love designing for the large and the small parties, the vibrant and colorful, the more muted, a themed party, anything you can think of, we can run with! If you have some ideas, but am happy for us to make suggestions or even take the reins, you will be in good hands with us. This design was requested as Christmas, red and gold, we appreciate the trust, believe me! 🙏💪❤️

Celebrating as a couple?! Just another reason to surround yourself with flowers and this time of year, a little Seasonal cheer , candles, fresh flowers, pine cones and Christmas accents, set the tone for togetherness, peace, and love.

Promise, promise myself I will do better in the “taking photos of my designs” part of my work life !!
Apart from that - I do love how Christmas bring new greenery to my world of design. We now live in a time, where like supermarkets, we can get almost all florals year round ( at a cost of course ) But Christmas ha its own vibe - Pine and Fir, red dog wood, Poinsettias galore , and for added Christmas joy, baubles and glitter 🎄
It is a challenge when you live below the snow line to get in the Christmas spirit, the sun is out, you are in T-shirts and light pants. But then a floral design will remind you; Christmas is just around the corner!!

Happy Thanksgiving - what are you thankful for today or any day? - It is a never ending question really, today I am thankful for my family, my daughter flying in from LA to spend time with us, good health, a garden that keeps giving even when temperatures are dropping and for not living in a war zone 🙏 Be your best self, live a little, love a lot, tomorrow is not guaranteed for anyone ❤️

The fun and dirty part of Floristry, that no one talks about - the before the magic happens, the mechanics of the design is as important if not more important than the botanicals you are using in designing - without good mechanics, your design risks falling appear and disappoint not only yourself, but your clients and their guests

Studying color theory with and really has been enlightening for me in my design process. Before I would not have chosen a vase like this one, as I was “just not a fan” - Now I see them as a way to explore color, texture and shape in new ways.
Add to that repurposing florals from an event, where you are bound by precut stems - here everything was precut apart from the Gladioli and the Seaweed.
Does the seaweed help/uplift the design? What do you think?

A tradition from my home country, Denmark. We light candles in remembrance of the liberation of Denmark from German occupation, the end of WW2. Even as a child I knew the lighting of the candles was special, looking out of our windows, I could see other houses with candles lit in the windows - it resonated with me even then. Having@lived abroad for several years and in different countries, I have always lit candles and know fellow expats do the same - Lest we forget!

Show some love with a “Get Well Soon” , vibrant colors give energy and lifts your spirit ❤️ We love this mix of yellow, pink and touches of lavender, the tulips are tucked in as they will grow 1-1 1/2 inches after being cut.

Mothers Day is near !! Did you forget?? I have just the thing for you; A workshop on 5/13. Together we will make a floral design in a vintage container for Mom to keep, using a mix of colorful botanicals and flowers.
Feel free to bring children over the age of 8, they can help with the design or make their own personal card while you design. As of now, there are 4 spots left!

Happy Easter - love these vintage Easter egg vases, cannot deny the little gold accents and floral decor makes me smile and reminds me of visiting a Great Aunts house, she was the Queen of odd porcelain animals, trinkets and souvenirs 😇❤️🙏
