Story time!!!! I excitedly ordered a poster that I had designed on Canva from Staples on Saturday morning. Expecting a quick turnaround (like always), I eagerly awaited the email notification confirming that my order was ready for pick up. However, the hours passed, and no such email arrived.

As Saturday night set in, I realized that I had not received any communication from Staples. Panicking, I remembered that Staples opened at 11 AM on Sundays. With my set up scheduled for 12 noon, I hurriedly packed my car and arrived at Staples just in time for their opening.

To my dismay, upon entering the store, I learned that the person responsible for printing orders the previous day had not shown up for work. The printing staff was also running late that day, and my order was at the bottom of the queue, slated for completion by 4:30 PM. This news was a major setback, as I needed the poster immediately for my event set up.

Maintaining transparency with my client, I called to explain the delay and started searching for alternative printing options. Most places were closed on Sundays, but I managed to find a Walgreens that offered printing services. Despite the slight delay, I rushed to Walgreens, where they efficiently printed the poster for me.

Arriving at the event 45 minutes behind schedule, I quickly unloaded my car with the help of my little assistant, Ace. Surprisingly, the set up took just five minutes, and by 1:05 PM, everything was in place. The event was due to start at 1 PM, and fortunately, there was only one guest present when I completed the set up.

Thankful that everything fell into place despite the initial hiccup, I received positive feedback from my client, who was delighted with the end result. It was a lesson learned to always have a backup plan and to remain calm in unexpected situations.
