Cloud 9 Cuisine is a mobile personal chef service in the Greensboro/Raleigh area. We cater to the middle/working class & specialize in affordable gourmet comfort food but we’re able to make anything that is requested of us. When you think of Cloud 9 you usually tend to associate those words with Ma*****na, Mary Jane, etc but that wasn’t the inspiration behind the name of my business. I chose Cloud 9 solely because cooking takes me to a higher place. When I cook I feel as if I’m on a cloud. Experimenting with different ingredients, being able to play around with my presentation, and making peoples taste buds dance is what makes me happy & also what I think makes me a great cook.
I’ve always been able to cook but my Father, the late & great Orlando Jenkins is the one that saw something in me even when I didn’t see it myself. I suppose that’s what fathers are supposed to do but he made sure I was always watching whenever he cooked. I owe a great deal to him & although he is not here today, I know that he’s proud of how far I’ve come. He taught me to not just cook but to also enjoy what I’m doing. He taught me that experimenting is key, that everyone isn’t going to like what you produce but you should never let that stop you from achieving your dreams, that there’s nothing greater than the art that you create whether it’s a painting or a dish. Cloud 9 is dedicated to him & his memory. Without his influence there would be no Cloud 9. So here’s to Orlando & the success of Cloud 9 Cuisine in the near future.
