Finally revealing some of the breathtaking highlights from S + L’s dreamy Hawaii elopement! Our day began with a cold plunge in a river in the jungle (stay tuned for those stunning shots!). Afterwards, we grabbed some breakfast at a local coffee shop and then went to their airbnb so they could get ready.

Getting ready together can be such a sweet and fun way to make your elopement comfortable for you! It sets the tone for an intimate and relaxed celebration! And all the unique details help tell the story of the day!

Then we headed to a beautiful forest and field overlooking the island so that S + L could ground themselves in the cool fresh air, write their vows, and play in the forest before their ceremony! It’s often these small moments that are overlooked that I find so important to include in your day....time to soak in the beauty of where you are, and time for a moment of stillness together before your ceremony!

“Sunrise or Sunset Elopement? Let’s weigh the magic!

For the early birds, sunrise elopements offer the tranquility of a new day and can almost ensure a private ceremony with most of the island still asleep. You’ll be able to fill the rest of your day with an adventure or two, or maybe a power nap before a celebratory dinner that night! & YES, there are hair and makeup artists who offer early elopement packages & will come to you this early!

P.S. If you’re coming from the east coast of North America, you will probably be waking up pretty early anyway the first few days :)

🌺✨ On the flip side, sunset vows bathe you in the warmth of golden hues, allow you to get a good sleep the night before, and a chill, slow morning. You’ll need an experienced photographer who knows where to take you to avoid the crowds but privacy for your ceremony is always possible :)

No matter what....listen to your gut, and go with the option that makes you feel less stressed!

Who needs a fancy venue when you can say 'I do' surrounded by palm trees, gentle waves, and lush jungles? ⁣

S + E traded a traditional venue for the Big Island's black sand beaches and stunning lava fields in Volcano National Park blending their love with the rich cultural heritage of Hawaii. ⁣

A week after their ceremony I met them in Maui where they were honeymooning for an adventure session to explore the beautiful, lush jungles of Maui and gorgeous sandy coastlines!

From the lei exchanges to the little details in between, their elopement became an unforgettable journey, celebrating both their union and the diversity in landscapes across both islands! 🌴⁣
