Alright, y'all, let’s chat. Don’t go full-on Grinch on us just yet. Serious-ish talk: the Walnut Street Bridge Snowflakes. We know you love 'em, we love 'em, everybody loves 'em—but here’s the deal: when we went to install them this year, even more issues popped up. Like, more issues than your most of these facebook feeds. So, we’ve decided to bench them this year.
And no, it’s not as simple as cussing them out, kicking them a couple times, and hitting up Walmart for replacements. These are fancy, pricey, diva-level snowflakes and electrical systems. Repairing them all would cost a sleigh-load of cash, so instead, we’re holding off until the Walnut Street Bridge gets its big renovation starting in March. Fun fact: yeah, these snowflake problems are part of why we need that renovation.
So, don’t put us on the naughty list just yet. Instead, check out Miller Park’s 70+ trees decked out in full holiday glory. And don’t worry—after the renovation, the Walnut Street Bridge is gonna come back brighter than Rudolph’s nose.
Trust us, we hate it too.
