Hi Everyone,
I hope this reaches all the downtown businesses, my followes and vendors. Please feel free to share it. This post is in regards to the Fall Ladies Night. As some of you may know I am preparing to open my own storefront in Downtown Chehalis with my other business. Originally I thought I would be in my storefront and set up by middle of July, however construction was delayed I am now set to get my keys Sept 1st. As you all know setting up a storefront is not a simple task and will be consuming most of my time and energy for the next month or two. I feel as though my full attention won't be on the Ladies Night event for the Fall. I prefer to be fully attentive in the events that I run and I do not want to do a disservice to all the businesses by not being fully focused. Therefore this year, there will not be a Fall Ladies Night.
However- don't fret this isnt a forever thing, it's just for this Fall. We will pick right up after the new year for the Spring Ladies Night and run the Fall one next Year (2025). Dates are already booked. Myself and Experience Chehalis are brainstorming ideas on how to add some fun things to the event for next year. I am sorry if this news may be a little disappointing, but I hope y'all can understand my reasoning behind it.

As a lot of our community members prep to attend the upcoming fair, Id like to grab your attention for a moment for a Call to action so to speak. When we think of our county fair, we think about how its about our county, our community. Its about our community coming together to support all the kids and their animals, the local contest our locals compete in from photography, to baking to sewing, and local vendors and businesses. Its about our community coming together to support one another.
Most don't know that for the past few years several local businesses have been fighting to get into the fair as vendors. They been fighting behind the scenes pleading their cases to be included and getting denied multiple times. You see there are a few large companies that vend at the fair that are not from this area. They are from up North, a different county, and typically do the state fair and travel down once a year to vend at our county fair. Unfortunately they have held the spot at our county fair for a few years and have been fighting AGAINST allowing our own local vendors into the fair.
This year those local vendors were finally allowed to in. However the fight is not over. Im calling upon our local community that plan to attend the fair to seek out our local food trucks that are at the fair, find them, buy from them! While some of them have been placed on the outside of the typical food area, some are in fact in the typical food area.
Our county fair should be about our community members, our community members who live here, whos kids grow up here, community members who are our neighbors, our friends, and family. They are the ones that are supporting our community day after day, they are ones donating to our kids sports and extra curricular activities. They need our support now more than ever. For several years I see many complain online about how far the fair has fallen. I cant agree more with that. Help take back our fair and bring it back to a community event, help be the change!. Please support local vendors at our fair this year. It takes a village to make a change. Who knows maybe this step can lead to bigger changes.

A huge Thank you to all the vendors and shoppers who came out to ChehalisFest yesterday. Another huge Thank you to all the volunteers who came and helped. I didn't take many pictures or videos myself as we hired Jesse Smith- the true professional to do all the video and pictures of the event. Cant wait to see the final outcome of his work.
