Happy 1st Anniversary, D+J! Their intimate affair was planned in just over three weeks and it could not have been more perfect for these two. Surrounded by 25 of their closest family and friends, they said their vows under a beautiful Chuppah in the common room of the groom’s parents’ condo building.
designcollective transformed the rather utilitarian space into a warm, personal, and stunning setting with soft tones, draping, and an abundance of floral. The room was “flipped” in 45 minutes to host a decadent brunch at tables that left no detail untouched.

We will always look back at this wedding fondly and hold a special space in our hearts for D+J and their families.

Thank you to everyone who made this come together so quickly. I could not have asked for a better team.

Part of our commitment to sustainability is finding ways to repurpose ceremony decor for the reception. You know we love a good black + white wedding, but we just had to add some bursts of color for S+J’s celebration! Using their love of modern art for inspiration, “Warhol-ized” their engagement photos, which were then hung on the walls of their venue (which just happened to be an art gallery 😉). Not only did these larger-than-life installations wow guests, they are now hanging in the couple’s home as a very meaningful and special keepsake.

If there’s one thing our couples have in common, it’s their love of Chicago’s incredible restaurants. And Hana + Brad are no exception! Their photographer, , captured them sharing a slice at their favorite pizza joint, , and cocktailing at the site of their rehearsal dinner, . We can’t wait to celebrate with them in November!

Happy 4th (or is it 1st?) Anniversary to M+K! Not only did they marry on Leap Day 2020, but it was the last wedding we produced in the “before times”, making their celebration even more memorable and meaningful. We will never forget that night!

It’s Groundhog Day and rumor has it that we will have an early Spring! We can’t think of a better day to focus on the dreamy florals (and fruit!) from R+P’s wedding!

curated the most beautiful blooms for this brunch wedding. Everything from the boutonnières to the bespoke tabletop arrangements seamlessly continued the color story and gilded aesthetic that was inspired by the bride’s dress (yes — THAT dress!).

Options, options, options! Most caterers require that you provide indicators for your guests’ meal selections on their es**rt card. There are many more creative ways than just writing “B” for beef or “F” for fish. Here, we used different wax seals in the color palette of the wedding to indicate which protein the guest had selected. Form and function! Done and done!

Happy Chanukah to all who celebrate!

Chanukah is the celebration of freedom from oppression, which is especially relevant this year.

There is no justification for the thousands of deaths that have occurred over the past two months in Israel and Gaza, the horrific treatment of the Israeli hostages, and current climate of Antisemitism and Islamophobia running rampant on college campuses and cities across the world.

As we light the first candle tonight, I will be praying for peace for my Jewish friends and family, as well as the innocent Palestinians that are suffering.

May we all find light and hope this holiday season and a way forward to find a compassionate, fair, and just end to the war.

Chag Sameach!

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה, יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ, מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, שֶׁהֶחֱיָנוּ וְקִיְּמָנוּ וְהִגִּיעָנוּ לַזְּמַן הַזֶּה.
