I am learning to love myself.​
​
Self-love and learning how to love yourself is the foundation of the work that I do as a counselor and coach.
​
I’ve seen people fully commit and immerse themselves in the process of learning how to love themselves and it totally changes every area of their lives.
​
A lot of the resistance I see around self-love comes down to one question:
Isn’t self-love selfish or egotistical?
​
Far from it…
​
First, self-love does not mean valuing others less.
It just means recognizing that you have equal importance, because so often the love that we pour out for others, we never give to ourselves.
​
We are not better or worse than anyone else.
And we deserve all the love that we are willing to give to others.
​
And second, self-love is a way of being united in agreement with your Creator.
It’s a way of saying, “Yes, I see what you’ve created and I believe you’ve created something good.”
​
It’s a process and a journey to love yourself.
It doesn’t happen overnight, so take it step by step and be gentle with yourself in the process.
