This location is now a Mexican restaurant, but it used to be a very popular destination for costumes, particularly before seasonal Halloween stores were around. It was a great spot to pick up Magic tricks and novelties such as Stink Bombs, Tarot cards, clown makeup, Ventriloquist dummies and more. Izzy Rizzy's House of Tricks was founded in November of 1970 in Chicago, Illinois by Michael M. The b
usiness was first located in a small storefront on 63rd Street, with a product line featuring puppets, marionettes, and ventriloquist dummies. In addition, Mike also offered private lessons and courses in "throwing your voice"
Due to the public's growing interest in related fields, such as magic and novelties, the, Izzy Rizzy's relocated to a larger store nearby within a year. Mike expanded the current product lines, adding new items, including makeup and costumes. It was not long before this store outgrew its second location. A larger building on Pulaski Avene was purchased in March 1974 to become the third location of Izzy Rizzy's. Through service and reputation, the business continued to grow. Mike purchased more land around the store, and continued to build on. He added on an addition to the existing building and increased the line of magic, costumes, and novelties. The hard work and determination paid off when Izzy Rizzy's was awarded a Certificate of Commendation by the Greater Southwest Development Corporation for its contribution to the business community. In January 2005, the store relocated once again, moving to its current location, 6356 S. In the Chicagoland community, Izzy Rizzy's has been well-known for its magic, novelties, costumes, and adult items. As commerce moved into different directions, it was only a matter of time before the business moved onto the Internet. In April of 2003, Izzy Rizzy's opened its online store, and thus moved into the global marketplace, enjoying success with eCommerce and eBay sales. They have been selling on eBay since 2007. In 2008 they opened an eBay store with instant Buy Now options as well as the original eBay auction forum. April 2010: After 39½ years, Izzy Rizzy's closed their retail store in Chicago and sell on line exclusively on their websites: IzzyRizzys.com and IzzyRizzysAdultPartyStore.com as well as their eBay store: Izzy Rizzy's House of Tricks.
