Just a quick check-in to say hi!! I’ll never be able to narrow down my favs from M+C’s beautiful day, but this photo is in our printing production queue right now and it’s too sweet not to share 🩷 more to come!

Wow wow August was such a rush!!!! 8 weddings down in August alone + it was an absolute dream. I can’t believe it’s already September?! It’s my favorite time of year, Fall wedding season!! Something about this weather + the long editing nights cozying up in a blanket with Gilmore girls on in the background makes me feel like a college kid again. It grounds me + reminds me to be so grateful for how far we have come since those sleepless nights 6 years ago haha. The crisp air in the fall also motivates me to finish out these last few months of busy season strong. It’s such a gift!!

In other news, I’m headed off to Italy on Monday + I. Can’t. Wait. More on that later 😉 I’ll be working weird office hours while I’m gone but you can still reach me via email!! So excited to chat with all of the amazing couples who have been sending inquiries this week!! I’ve been smiling so big reading your stories + can’t wait to connect with you!!

The aftermath of the sweetest proposal - so sweet that I’m going to make you wait for it!!! C+B came all the way to Chicago from Toronto to enjoy the city, specifically this view. Oh me?? I’ve just been workin 9-5 and 5-9 + loving absolutely every second of 2024 busy season!! I just turned 28🩷🎉🎂 and after 12 years of SLP, this year I am seeing even more come to fruition from of all of those years of hard work + learning what truly matters when it comes to running a business. I am so dang proud of our work so far this year + pumped for all of the amazing weddings, proposals, bo***ir sessions, (etc etc) to come!!! This month is the busiest in SLP history + I am forever grateful. So, on that note…

True story when I tell you I’m still smiling from this day!! Matt + Sam’s wedding was genuinely so much FUN. They had the most beautiful ceremony at , gorgeous portraits around the city, followed by the party of a lifetime they threw at River roast. We love a bridal party tunnel grand entrance (okay!!!!👏🏼), not to mention Sam’s aunt is the funniest person on the planet, I’m convinced (see the 8th slide for proof). Sweet moments, dances, + memories cherished. So much more to share from this dream of a day!

Jenny + Peter’s sneak peeks!!!!✨ sooo much more to share, but here are a few favs from J+P’s best day ever!!! We laughed, we cried, we bopped around the city scream singing in their trolley + finally got to watch these two say I do!!!! This day was full of love + joy + hilarious jokes from Jenny. This girl’s sense of humor kills me😂🩷 Thinking about this day makes me smile so big. The sun was shining bright, the energy was perfect and the moments were so pure. Slide for one of my favorite moments of jenny + her mom (bestie) bustin up the dance floor at the end of the night. Couldn’t love them more!!!

Hi hello!

I’m Steph! Welcome to my little corner of Instagram where I love to celebrate your love + the beautiful people in your life. Today I’m shooting in Florida + I spent my morning reflecting + sitting in gratitude, thinking back on the last 11 years + how far we have come - and wow, is God faithful. (Peep 3rd slide for a photo at my first wedding ever!!)

I began my business as a photographer in 2013 and started shooting weddings in 2015. Since beginning this career, I have learned SO MUCH about what truly matters in life + the importance of my job. What stands above all else is PEOPLE over everything. You, your people, your moments, your love. We are nothing without our people to share these moments with, and these moments don’t exist without each other.

Being a photographer has allowed me to see peoples hearts in such a unique way. These milestones are vulnerable, sometimes high stress, incredibly exciting + often surreal. And above all else, they’re meant to be shared, because true joy is found in the experience of connection. Your person, your people - over everything.

With this, I must say that for 10 years I stood at the end of your wedding aisles, watching + wondering if I would ever get to walk down my own aisle, toward my own person. Your pure joy would bring tears to my eyes + not even in a bitter way. You just filled me with so much hope, that I could someday share in a connection that was as special as all of yours. And all along the way, your love kept me going even when I didn’t want it to hahaha.

My moment finally came 6 months ago when I married the love of my life, Mitchell, on November 10, 2023🤍 And yet again, I was reminded of what matters most in life. People. My person, our moments, our love, our people. You.

Thank you for inviting me along to tell your story + allowing me into the most special experiences of your life. And the best part?? Continuing this journey with you as you grow your families + enter into the next chapters and milestones of your lives. You’re my people, my heart, + I stinkin’ love this life! Thank you from the bottom of my heart - see you soon!!!

A too-short but so-sweet trip down to St. Pete for Cynthia + Ryan’s dreamy beach engagement sesh!✨ We truly could not have had better weather or a sweeter time together! Being a small part of this season for Cynthia was extra special because she is one of my longest childhood friends 🫶🏼 from second grade to our wedding days, we have lived so many seasons of life together; but this one’s by far my favorite!! Love you guys + could not be happier that you found each other!

Matt + Maria | part 2✨ So completely in love with this venue, the atmosphere, this couple, + high flash photos! It was so hard to pick favs but I love the pure joy that this celebration of their engagement was 🫶🏼

As many of you know, I got married in November (!!) then left for our honeymoon, did the craziness of the holidays, + shot our last 2023 wedding; so I have been pedal to the metal over here. Winter is sweeter than we give her credit for here in Chicago haha; Now that the craziness is over, I am leaning into this slower season of rest, which is such a (much needed) gift.

This weekend I finished editing a wedding gallery + shipped out some albums! In these slower shooting months we are back to booking season + I am loving all that’s in store for me + the team this year. We still have a select few dates open for 2024, but things are also already starting to ramp up for 2025 wedding inquiries + I am hereeee for it 🥳 I am so so grateful for the amazing couples we get to work with this year, I have a gooood feeling about all the love + joy to come!!!

Matt + Maria part 2!!✨ high flash photos stole my heart in 2023 + I’m never looking back. High flash pairs perfectly with our city lights + authentically portraying your night time parties + sessions as they were. Lighting truly is everything + one of my favorite things is getting the chance to choose how your story is told, through selective lighting. There’s a time + place for everything!!!

A small pro tip: when choosing your wedding photographer, ask them if you can see their **outdoor** night time work / dark indoor photos! Especially for my city couples, Chicago venues are notoriously dark + require a lot of knowledge about lighting. *cue gatsby raising a glass*

Matt + Maria part 1✨ haha here I am again, months behind posting on IG the magic that I have been able to experience with you all this year; so as our busy season comes to an end I will be sharing more of your precious moments from 2023!! This sweet proposal was followed by a gorgeous engagement party filled with love, laughter, + some iconic high flash shots (seriously can’t wait to post those in part 2!!)

The beauty of this industry is that almost all of our clients come from word of mouth + your amazing referrals, so thank you thank you (!!!) to my incredible couples for sharing the love + sending so many of your favorite people to us. I LOVE you all + we are forever grateful to know you, your stories, and your people.

2023 was absolutely radical for SLP + I can’t wait to share more of what we’ve been up to during the craziest year of my life lol🫶🏼
