Flowers? For Spring? Groundbreaking🌸😂

But in all seriousness, how can you not get excited to see all the pretty flowers blooming??🌸

Spring season is here and in Chicago this means anything from rain to cold to hot temps in one day. But when the perfect spring day comes around all that is forgotten🌸

Peter, Aggeliki and I got hit with a terrible spring cold this week. We are on the mend (Aggeliki more so than her parents 🫠) and looking forward to a beautiful, busy weekend🌸

As for these blooms from her 2nd bday, beautifully photographed by don’t they just exude that spring feeling? Yiayia Angie put them together in different vessels, including our own milk glass collection and a variety of tea pots🌸

Angie and I sourced all the bunny/Easter pieces on the tables back in January knowing this was going to be her bday theme🐰 Everything else came together perfectly and the color palette was oh so calming and happy🌸

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms and Mother figures in our lives. The ones that are with us and for the ones we wish were still here💐

Aggeliki arrived Mother’s Day weekend 2022 as if she knew exactly what this heartbroken Mama to 6 angel babies and countless of years of so desperately wanting to become a Mom needed💞

This makes it our third Mother’s Day together and I’m beyond grateful that not only do we get to celebrate together but that we get to meet her baby sister in just two months💞

They say parents will do anything for their children, we just happen to to do anything & everything to get to ours and It was definitely worth it all💞

I know how hard today is if you are in your own fertility journey…I wish there was some magic saying to make it not feel a certain way or make the pain go away but know you are not alone💞

Our little Bunny turned 2, Aggeliki’s 2nd birthday💞

Aggeliki loves bunnies! She squeals when she sees them in our backyard or in her books. Ms Rachel’s ‘Hop Little Bunny’ song makes her hop like a bunny and it always makes us smile when she turns around to see if we are hopping with her🐰

Since her birthday fell the day after our Easter, we thought what better way to celebrate her than with a springy-bunny filled celebration🐰

She was the perfect little hostess! She made sure to set her kid’s table, pretend to eat the pink bonbon carrot shaped boxes filled with crayons, try the custom straws and test out the ball pit before her guests arrived🐰

these photos of Aggeliki are beyond special to us! Thank you for capturing her little personality and smile perfectly (along with all the detail photos)💞

Carousel Celebration 🎠

Stamatina’s pretty in pink, carousel horse filled celebration was one epic baptism & 1st birthday-with alllll the custom details🎠

We had so much fun working with her Mom, Angie and designing this baptism! From the welcome moment to the custom gold carousel horses, we made sure every detail was carefully curated to make for an elegant, yet playful celebration🎠

The actual vintage carousel horses on the head table and carousel dessert table were show stoppers! Don’t you just love them?🎠

For the florals, we worked with a pale pink color palette with pops of delicate anemones and hints of greenery in gold pedestal vessels. Each table had custom table numbers🎠

Custom desserts were displayed around the awesome vintage cake and custom coloring pages & wooden carousel horse pieces were available for Stamatina’s younger guests to color🎠

Oh BOY! “Sprinkled” in love💙🍦

The ultimate summer baby sprinkle theme-ice cream sprinkles! We loved designing and planning this intimate celebration for the expecting Mama💙🍦

We created a fun “ice cream” cart dessert section with coordinating umbrella, filled with baby themed deserts and sprinkled filled mini cakes💙🍦

The blue stripe linens were so soft to the touch and the perfect subtle blue for the sweet baby boy on the way. We filled the table with fresh floral cones nestled in sprinkles and sundae glass vessels filled with fresh and fluffy “vanilla” flowers, topped with teal cherries of course, and sprinkled filled cupcake favors💙🍦

Since we were using colorful sprinkles, we coordinated the flowers with the matching balloon installation above the table. A fun and playful cluster in an organic shape💙🍦

This celebration was filled with so much love and sweet details! We are beyond happy for the family with the arrival of their precious little baby boy last week💙🍦

Royal Celebration honoring Prince Vasilios👑💙

When it came to celebrate baby Vasilios on his baptism day, his Mom Michelle envisioned a prince theme with royal blue and gold color palette👑💙

We kicked off the celebration with royal banners, a custom welcome sign and the prettiest hand torn place cards with beautiful calligraphy attached to the favors his grandmother Rena brought from Greece👑💙

For the florals we used textured gold vessels with a medley of blue and yellow florals. We nestled a gold metal crown in each floral arrangement and made the flowers look like they were growing around the crown. Custom table number frames, gold candle holders with white taper candles and little crown shape votive candle holders competed the table arrangements👑💙

The focal point of the room were the large marquee letters spelling out his name and on either side we had clusters of balloons. made sure to have the perfect light blue to pair it back to the navy and gold balloons as well as the fun gold crown shaped balloons👑💙

The two dessert tables were filled with a variety of Greek deserts and custom chocolate covered Oreos, Rice Krispy Treats and Cakesicles from Don’t they match our royal blue risers and gold stands perfectly? We are obsessed with the framed V ones👑💙

The team in Oakbrook was fantastic as always and we love working in their private room spaces👑💙

We had pleasure of working on Bob and Michelle’s Bridal Shower, then their baby shower and finally Vasilios’ baptism. It’s truly an honor to continue celebrating with our clients! Michelle and Bob thank you and congratulations again on Vasilios’ special day👑💙

Friday Fun(gi) & Games🌸🍄

Little mushroom gift boxes filled with paint kits & cookie treats were placed at each little setting along with coordinating placemats and coloring books📖

We filled the center table with little fresh floral filled pots, miniature moss covered mushrooms and completed everything with the cutest mushroom shaped plates, napkins and light pink wood cutlery📖

What is your favorite detail?
We can’t pick just one, but seeing Aggeliki sit at her table surrounded by her cousins and little friends did melt our hearts💞

Fairy Floral Gardens📖

and I selected a variety of blooms in a cheerful color palette, not too bold, not too soft. We arranged them to look like they were growing wild, with lots of textures, in the moss covered vessels📖

Little mushroom and butterfly details were placed within the arrangements as well as the green ceramic mushrooms and candle holders📖

We used lilac table linens andchiavari chairs to create an elegant fairy woodland setting📖

What we love to design for our clients is one of a kind events, elegant + playful, filled with personality and joy. Our florals are our own way of styling and our ideas are unique & authentic-Aggeliki’s birthday celebration was no exception📖

One Upon A Time📖

When it came time to plan Aggeliki’s first birthday celebration, we knew we wanted to play off our book theme that we carried over from our wedding to our baby shower and then finally our first chapter with Aggeliki📖

Her birthday is in May so we worked with a spring color palette and lots of floral details📖

We reached out to to have her mushroom gift boxes included because they are beyond adorable! From there, she created her paper items and invitations. How sweet are these coordinating place mats and coloring books?📖

Life (with Aggeliki) lately🧡

Aggeliki turned 15 months old today and although it takes me a moment to count out the months, I really can’t believe how quickly time is going…I feel like we just celebrated her 1st bday yesterday!?🧡

She is more stubborn than I ever imagined, she is so determine, I saw this one coming since she was a newborn, she is funnier than Peter and I combined (and we think we are pretty funny🙃) and has quite the little personality🧡

This summer brought us a whole lot of firsts, challenges and realizations. I had to travel this summer without Peter and Aggeliki for my other job. The first trip was only 4 days and I barely made it but my almost 2 week one really challenged me. By the time the 3rd trip came around, I felt like I knew how to balance my feelings and overall heartache from being away from them a little better…but I feel like this will always be a work in progress. I took on a project that in hindsight I should have skipped because it was during my two week vacation that I desperately wanted that time with P&A but it’s the lesson I probably needed to learn the most this summer🧡

Life keeps happening, Aggeliki keeps growing and I will continue to keep learning. It’s not always perfect, not even close, but it sure is special to get to experience all of it together🧡

Aggeliki’s first road trip (to MI) was a success. She did pretty well and although the trip took twice as long getting there and back home, she was a little trooper. Here she is in her onesie. This is the same company that we have the cute green floral romper from in her 4mos old photos🧡
Photo 2-3: We went out to eat (our fav Greek food restaurant) and Aggeliki tried kolokithokeftedes (fried zucchini) and pastichio and LOVED it! She also broke a plate (🙈) everyone cheered and said OPA and she started clapping 😂 The staff was so understanding, Peter&I felt horrible. I asked her who broke the plate and this was her reaction!

Photo 3: an olive oil and olive bar for one spectacular Greece inspired baptism celebration. Large clay urn holding fresh, big olive branches, custom wooden sign, a variety of olives for guests to try and an array of olive oils for guests to dip their bread pieces found in an oversized wicker basket🫒

Photo 4: a sheet fabric, cabana bar feel. We used sheet frantic to cover our metal fixture and surrounded it with fresh greenery🫒

Photo 5: a custom ice cream bar with adorable ice cream cups, monogrammed lids and wooden spoons to complete🍨

Photo 6: a cake bar with a variety of flavors and styles that coordinate. This one was a special one with lots of meaning behind it but in general a few cakes styled together always makes for a fun -delicious- movement. Our velvet covered bar was used with pink vintage planters from , custom backdrop walls from .better and pedestals from 🍰

Photo 7: our vintage white metal cart is the perfect accessory for any outdoor celebration. Pretty alcohol bottles also add to the overall display and delicious cocktails- thanks 🩵

Meet us at the Periptero (kiosk)💙

Back in June we co-hosted a fun Greek vendor pop-up event with .mas at Artopolis Bakery in Chicago💙

We’ve always loved how the East coast Greek community would have these types of pop-ups and thought the Chicagoland market would like to have something like this as well💙

Fast forward to 2021 when we started talking to Kristina from YiaMas about possibly doing something like this in Chicago. It took us a couple of years to make a date/find time in our fully booked schedules to work and had an amazing group of vendors join us💙

The name came from the all encompassing kiosks in Greece that are usually a meeting point before heading to another destination. We love art piece of her yellow periptero and worked with .creative from Candace who created the most adorable take on that periptero marketing print💙

Our space host was the perfect location for this event. Great food, delicious coffee and of course their famous loukoumades are amazing-must try💙

The energy was so much fun and the music from added to it perfectly💙

We had a custom kiosk built with a balloon moment for photos, created two awesome give-away baskets (more to come on these) and really enjoyed our time with everyone that stopped by, said hello and even purchased something💙

Something new, something borrowed, something blue🤍

Rounding up our anniversary week with some of my favorite details and photos🤍

My lace gown that I absolutely loved🤍 I fell in love with the lace and cut but then added the little cap sleeves with all the extra lace from the bottom of the dress that we had during alterations. For the reception, my friend Kaylee made me the most perfect organza, open skirt with satin ribbon detail to wear over my dress🤍 My something borrowed were these beautiful yellow gem earrings from Peter’s cousin and my dear friend Patty. She knew yellow is my favorite color and they added the most perfect sparkle💛. For my something blue, my mom pinned a little evil eye pin🩵

Our photographer had us take some photos at home with us “reading” giving very much reading room vibes via era🤍

At one point I don’t know what I did but I ripped my dress and my mom had to sew it…my normally overly worried self didn’t even get worried about that🤍

My maternal grandmother had flown from Greece back in April to celebrate with us during our bridal shower with our sister Fay. We loved having both of them with us to celebrate together. We flew back to Greece in September with my grandmother and she was a hoot. I love having these memories of her🤍

My sister-in-law Dimitra, standing next to me in photo 7, just had a healthy baby boy on July 24th (our actual anniversary) we are beyond happy for her🤍

Our late night snack were dessert crepes (just like the ones you get in Greece at 4am 🙃) and for appetizers we had a carving station. Our wedding venue is our favorite for so many reasons; Great service, delicious food and the most amazing team to work with🤍

And my most favorite part, our legacy photos of our parents and grandparents on their wedding day at the welcome table🤍

Thanks for joining me down memory lane this week. For so many years our anniversary made me sad and it’s still bittersweet because my dad went into the hospital for the last time on July 24th before moving to hospice so it holds one of my most happiest days of my life and one of my most devastating ones in my heart🤍

July 25th is World Embryologist Day. World IVF Day, it’s the day the world's first IVF baby was born, July 25, 1978🥚
Embryologists play a major role in an IVF clinic & gave us a chance to grow our family🥚
Never in a million years did Peter& I think our journey to becoming parents would be so difficult or heart breaking🥚
We both came from big families& we pictured our own big family. At our wedding, Peter’s speech gave a lovely tribute to his dad and the dinners around their table filled with all of them & what he wished for us to have. I always wanted 4 kids, as our wedding anniversaries came & went, with every passing bday & holiday, my hope, wish & prayers changed to “if we could be lucky enough to have 1”🥚
Our fertility journey is long (10 years long) & the last 6 were with all things IVF related🥚
After our 3rd miscarriage, we were referred to our IVF clinic. At this point I had already had 3 D&Cs, 3 hysteroscopies & a myomectomy surgery with a hospital stay🥚
When we started our IVF journey, we did one egg retrieval, had two healthy embryos&thought our issues would be solved, we were wrong🤍
First transfer, resulted in a chemical pregnancy. Before we did another transfer I had to have another hysteroscopy (the uterus has to be cleared of polyps, fibroids or anything that could interfere with the embryo attaching&growing) our baby girl grew until 11 weeks&6 days. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility at this point🥚
After the D&C, I couldn’t go back to the clinic. I really lost myself & had to see a grief therapist because I couldn’t see past my sadness&depression🥚
After a year we went back to start the egg retrieval process again. We only had one embryo from our 2nd retrieval, we were heartbroken all over again. We had 2 the first time that didn’t work, we can’t possibly try with only 1. We did 7 more rounds of egg retrievals. Rounds 3-7 resulted in no embryos we could transfer. This was the hardest three years of our lives going through this process🥚
Between all the egg retrievals, there were a lot more surgeries, cancelled cycles, blood draws, ultra sounds, MRIs, Endochronologist for my now very messed up thyroid cont. in comments🥚

12 years ago today🤍🍾🥂

Peter and I got married and started a new chapter in our lives July 24, 2011🤍🍾🥂

Before we had our big Greek wedding celebration, we first started dating 11 years prior. Over the course of those 11 years, we grew apart, grew up for a little and found each other again🤍🍾🥂

I first met Peter when I was 15 and I thought he was sooo cute. We met at an dance group Cretan event and didn’t even talk to each other the whole time 🙃🤍🍾🥂

Then three years later I was visiting my cousin at We went to an apartment party and it happened to be Peter and his roommates hosting it…he was at the door handing out the red plastic cups 😂 I don’t think we talked then either but our feelings for each other were mutual…fast forward to spring break…Peter came up with a plan to ask me out and we finally went to dinner & a movie and talked the whole time…we talked over AOL messenger, land lines and then finally cell phones. I “visited” my cousin Elaine several times that year until i finally told my parents we were dating (I’m the oldest sibling to immigrant parents..I had to find ways to survive the strict rules that were in place-just for me 🙈)🤍🍾🥂

Even with all the ups and downs that we have faced together over the course of 23 years (doesn’t that number sound insane considering we are only in our 30’s😉?!), I’m so grateful we have each other. I can’t imagine life without him by my side🤍🍾🥂

This year we celebrated with Aggeliki, washer/dryer delivery guys, flooring guys, a plumber, couple of violin lessons and then finally a romantic dinner of hot dog, cheese and egg (IYKYK) while standing in our almost- finally-completely renovated kitchen in our new home that we worked so hard for over the past decade, watching her sleep on the monitor. This chapter looks a lot different then years before and I’m beyond grateful we get to experience it together🤍🍾🥂

This little B a r b i e had her first hotel stay and swimming pool experience-and loved it💕

💕When I worked at the circa 1997 we had these Gap Barbie gift sets and during holding we had to hold them and greet customers at the door with them. I’m not one for collecting dolls but I had always loved my Barbies when I was little so I couldn’t resist and spent some of my paycheck (um hello $5.25 wages) on the set and found it again when we packed up our family home this past spring💕
💕My mom was born in 1959, the year came out, so for her 50th I bought her this Barbie anniversary gift set of the original fashion doll. I love how we both have our gift sets💕

Who is going to see the tonight?? I can’t wait💕💕

💕Aggeliki’s little Barbie outfit is from and her most loved hat from via theia Evelyn She literally wakes up and points to it and wears it…the girl loves her accessories 💕

A is for Amalia's Adorable Baptism

This weekend was packed with lots of prettiness! After Saturday’s epic wedding we had the pleasure of working with one of our favorite repeat clients for her adorable baby girl’s Baptism. We worked with a soft and girly color palettefor a fresh shabby chic design. Lots of candles were placed throughout the room and even had a few wooden swings hanging over some of the tables. You can say we are a bit exhausted today but our hearts are beyond full with gratitude for having such amazing clients and beautiful projects to work on! We are working on a fun project this coming weekend (more details coming soon!) and we get to collaborate with the oh so talented pastry chef, Jennifer of Madame Gateau Cakes. We had the pleasure of working with her recently on two other events and we wanted to share with you a fun little video of a very pretty pink dessert table. *Please note video has sound:) Hrisoula's mom wanted a bright pink and yellow themed party with lots of pink dessert options. Everything Jennifer made look amazing and we had so much fun adding our favorite new prop our pink ferris wheel and our custom tulle wrapped name display.
