Hi everyone!
It’s always hard to ask, but I’m going to ask anyways… 🤞
I have a friend who lives WAY out in ‘the bush’ in Kenya. She has a house full of her own children, along with several others she helps care for. Five of these children are school-aged and require school fees. Education is not free in Kenya, and these kids NEED the opportunity to go to school.
We’ve been doing pretty well funding school fees for three of the children, but the sponsorship for the other two has fallen through. So at the moment, three of the kids are in school while the other two stay home.
There are three school terms per year in Kenya, and each term is roughly $250 per child - an impossible amount for most people living in this rural area to come up with.
I’m hoping and praying that two more people would be willing to ‘sponsor’ the remaining two children. Tax-deductible donations can be made to the ‘Pamoja’ fund through the North Valley Community Foundation, or they can be sent to my Venmo account (in which case they would not be tax-deductible, but I could get the funds to Kenya that same day).
Hoping this post reaches the right people! You are a wonderful community, and I appreciate each one of you.

It’s been a tense day in our community, but we had a big bright spot when these sweet girls came in to make flower arrangements. Birthday girl Lainie is one of my honorary nieces, and for the last three years has asked to come in and make a bouquet for her birthday. Little sister Maggie comes along too. The last picture is all three years of Lainie’s C&J birthday tradition. Happy Birthday, Flower Girl! ❤️

Long-time C&J friends Connie and BT celebrated their SIXTIETH wedding anniversary yesterday! BT ordered Connie a gardenia corsage - what she had worn for their wedding - along with a dozen red roses. When we carried his order out to the car with him, we saw their ORIGINAL ‘Just Married’ sign hanging in the back. BT and Connie, you are quite the team. Big appreciation and heartfelt congratulations to you!

We had such an incredible crew of people working so hard to get us moved in here six years ago (😮)!
