Good morning everyone! Jen here with White Wedding DJ Services to offer some education and insight! Did you know that DJs are some of the most litigated vendors in the industry? Wild, right? That's why it's so imperative that you are vetting your DJ, as well as all your vendors! Some things to look for on the DJ side:

1) how do they take payment? If they ask for Venmo, cashapp, Zelle, or other, similar payments methods, don't do it! These apps offer very little protection to you if something goes wrong.

2) do they have insurance? This is a bare minimum of running a business, and most venues require that your DJ provides insurance. Typical minimum policy is one million in coverage! If they hesitate on this question or don't carry it, don't do it!

3) do they offer a contract? I know contracts seem scary, but they protect both you and the vendor. If they say no, I don't do that, respectfully say no thank you!

Following these three steps isn't a full proof method to avoid being scammed, but it can definitely help get out those who may not be the best fit for your day. Book smart! Hope this helps everyone!

Jen here from White Wedding DJ Services to bring you back to DJ tip Thursdays! We’ve been seeing a LOT of couples get scammed by DJs and being panicked very close to their weddings, so I thought I’d hop on here and give some tips on how to ‘vet’ a DJ, since many couples have never hired one before!

1. Do they have insurance? This is HUGE. Say they get into a wreck and lose their equipment. If they’re not insured, your wedding may be DJ-less!

2. Do they have reviews? Reviews give you insight into the vibes, how the DJ acts, and what kind of performance you can expect

3. How often do they do weddings? There are different types of DJs, and a wedding DJ is very different from a karaoke DJ. You want to make sure you’re hiring the right type of DJ!

We hope this helps you on your vendor search, and gives some insight into what to look for when hiring the entertainment for your big day!

Hey guys!

Wanted to hop on here and have a chat. We HATE turning couples away. We want to make everyone’s big day absolutely amazing and everything they dreamed, but at the same time, we are a two person team, and when we’re booked, we’re booked! If you plan to get married in the popular months of 2025/2026 (May, June, September, October) please reach out ASAP! I’ve turned away 27 couples to date for 2025 dates because we’re already booked, and I hate doing it every single time. Other vendors we work with are experiencing the same thing, 2025 is going to be one of the biggest wedding years ever, so if you’re wanting a specific vendor, get them under contract as soon as you can, or your date may be gone! It’s never too early. We limit the number of weddings we take so we can provide focus and attention that every couple deserves! Can’t wait to make our 2024 sold out wedding season absolutely amazing for our couples!

Jen here from White Wedding DJ Services to offer a DJ tip, for our famous DJ tip thursday! Brides and grooms and partners, you should be asking if your DJ has insurance! This is so important and most couples don’t even know to ask. Most venues will require you to only hire vendors with insurance, and you don’t want to be stuck in a contract with someone uninsured. Before you hire them, ask! It protects you, and it protects the DJ, and is just the cost of doing good business. 🙂. Hope this helps out!
