Today, as I strolled through the peony field, I witnessed the clay soil cracking in our rows, unveiling delicate pink noses emerging from the earth's surface here and there. This cracking signified that the peonies were pushing their way through, a sight that always fills me with anticipation and relief. It's truly exhilarating to see them reappearing, as I often find myself wondering if they survived.
