One of the first design choices to be made when helping clients plan their dream wedding is stationary. Invites and Save the Dates set the tone and establish the first impression for the entire wedding. Make sure that your invite highlights your personality as a couple and reflects the overall feel for the big day.

Here are three tips to keep in mind when choosing that perfect invite.

1. Decide on an overall theme/mood, as well as a color scheme.
2. Pick a printer you can trust and don't skim on paper quality.
3. Send out invites 8-12 weeks prior to your wedding, with an RSVP deadline of 4-6 weeks before the big day so that you can track down any missing RSVP's.

This month, I was profiled for a member spotlight at my FABULOUS co-working space, Limelight CoWorking

Limelight is bright, airy, and full of inspiring and productive people doing amazing work. Between work, school, and this here business, this place has been a Godsend. I struggled a lot with working from home at the beginning of 2020. I need the change of scenery in order to be my most productive self, so I'm super happy to have a great place to work and create!

Shining the spotlight on Limelight member Stephanie Sheeley.

Stephanie is the Strategic Initiatives Manager at the YWCA of Cleveland where her work focuses on programs that aim to eliminate racism and empower women.

She loves being busy, and that’s a good thing, because in addition to her full-time job Stephanie is pursuing her MPA degree (Master of Public Administration) at Cleveland State with a concentration in economic development and city planning. In between all that, she is building another business—Steph R.S. Events because, she says, “I love making things pretty, hosting friends and family, and I hope to eventually own an event space.”

Stephanie sees herself working in public service, most likely in city government, but isn’t sure she’d run for elected office. Right now, she’s running the world from a desk at Limelight which offers her a functional space free of the distractions of home. "Being around others who are focused and productive and doing really cool work inspires me to do my best work," she says.

Stephanie lived in New Orleans for a few years, but has returned to her hometown where she'll stay a while. She enjoys travel and hopes to make a trip to South Africa to experience the places and events that influenced Nelson Mandela and visit other historical places relevant to the African diaspora.

I think it’s the communal eating that people miss, but it seems like homemade charcuterie boards are all the rage right now. Who doesn’t crave sharing a creamy cheese board and a smooth bottle of wine with friends on a cozy patio?!?
I get it and I got you! The great thing about working on more intimate gatherings, is that you don’t have to worry about feeding or pleasing the masses. Instead, you get to perfectly curate an event to fit your clients’ personality, right down to their favorite cheese! I personally LOVE goat!

My name is Stephanie. I'm the owner and creator of Steph R. S. Events. My middle name is Renee, last name Sheeley. Not to be confused with Seely or Shelley as I've been called. Most people call me Steph or Stephanie, but some call me Sheeley. ⁠

I struggled for a while as I attempted to come up with a name for my business. Ultimately, I decided on Steph R. S. Events because I wanted any project I touched to have an element of me. Of course, the customer is always right and it is always my hope to bring to life my client's ultimate vision. But I have a distinct style that I hope to incorporate in everything that I plan.⁠

I love planning intimate and small events that feature elegant and vintage decor, soft lighting, amazing food, and even better company. I LOVE a decadent tablescape and gorgeous flowers. Most importantly, I live in the details. ⁠

I offer event planning and coordination for everything from baby showers to weddings, brunches, and dinner parties. I also offer day-of-coordination for brides who want to plan most of their wedding themselves, with a little support to round out the corner and on the big day.⁠
