Celebrate AAPI Heritage Month at The Children’s Museum of Cleveland! Our Arts & Parts exhibit is featuring activities inspired by AAPI artists all month long. You can also read some special books celebrating AAPI stories in our Reading Nook. After your visit, visit Asiatown Cleveland for lunch, which is just a few blocks down the road from the Museum! The neighborhood’s community of restaurants, shops, and grocery stores transport you to China, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, and beyond.

5 things kids learn in Adventure City! 1. Gross Motor Skills: Playing in a way that uses your whole body such as exploring in our climber helps develop a child’s gross motor skills. 2. Problem Solving: Using open-ended materials to build a structure involves a lot of trial and error. This helps kids work on their problem solving skills! 3. Imagination: Imaginative play fosters creativity and promotes the development of language, social, and problem solving skills. There is SO much room for imaginative play in Adventure City from our pretend cars, to the market area, to the rooftop garden! 4. Bravery / Confidence Building: Risky play such as climbing on our net or in the climber helps develop skills to handle the feelings of nervousness and fear. This helps kids adapt to new situations and explore new environments. 5. Collaboration: We all know how important this skill is throughout life! Building this skill starts with play. Learning to collaborate and share ideas teaches kids to problem solve and work together.

Our Story

As a leader in imaginative and creative play, The Children’s Museum of Cleveland (CMC) gives children a place and the tools to write their own script and discover their own adventures through our interactive exhibits and programs.

We offer an open-ended learning environment giving children the opportunity to imagine, experiment, problem-solve and communicate – building skills for a 21st-century learner. We are an advocate for self-directed play as one of the best ways for a young child to learn.

We are a museum for all children – of all abilities, backgrounds, and ages. In our beautiful, historic new home, we respect not only childhood but also the parent and caregiver as the child’s first teacher. As a vital community resource, we provide experiences that can bridge a child’s learning between the Museum, home, and school. It’s a place for families to play, connect and learn together in an environment designed to excite, enrich and inspire. Located on Euclid Avenue between E. 36th and E. 40th streets in Midtown, the Museum features 12,000 square feet of brightly-lit exhibit spaces designed to develop 21st century skills: creativity, problem solving, communication and collaboration. It is a fully-accessible building and offers three times the number of free, public parking spaces as our former location as well as convenient access from I-90, I-77 and I-71. Open 6 days a week.
