I’m going to tell you a STORY about COMMUNITY.

We were invited to attend and hired to bring our Tap Truck to our dear friends’ daughter’s wedding in Crested Butte last weekend. I got the Tap Truck set up for 5 kegs and headed to CB a few days before the wedding.

On Saturday we arrived at Town Ranch and started setting up. As I put the first keg in the back of the truck, my heart hit the floor. I had everything set up for beer kegs and had completely forgotten that we were tapping corny kegs (different couplers). I have tapped kegs from so many times and was the one to recommend them to the bride, so I *knew* the kegs would be corny kegs. But somehow during set up, days before, I had completely spaced that detail. I always bring extra keg supplies but only had enough to tap 2 of the 5 corny kegs.

So I reached out to a fellow mobile bar to see if they had any of the parts I needed, and I sent my husband to the local brewery to see if they had any corny keg parts lying around. And I tried not to cry and I PRAYED hard that God would not let me screw up this beautiful wedding reception for our family friends!

Now I’m going to tell you what having a community looks like.
Cassie from The Horsefeather called me back and though she didn’t have any corny keg couplers she and Heidi started reaching out to restaurants and others to see if someone had what I needed. She even offered to go get the parts and bring them to me! And she was sending me encouraging texts the whole time! My husband got to Irwin Brewing just before the head brewer Dave left and was able to borrow a bucket full of the parts I needed to tap the rest of the kegs! We tapped the last keg right as guests were arriving.

This is why having a community is so important. I preach all the time but I EXPERIENCED it in CB last weekend. Cassie, Heidi and Dave didn’t know me or my little party rental company from Colo Springs. But we are part of an incredible community where we want each other to succeed. To Cassie, Heidi and Dave, thank you for your kindness, compassion and for helping me when I really needed it! Cheers!

The American Rental Association has helped my small business in so many ways. From providing insurance for my business to answering questions about delivery calculations (Thanks James Auerbach!!) to the folks in the FB groups that offer advice…I am grateful to be a member of this organization! It’s finally HERE!!!! The Happy Camper movie premiered today on !!! Filmed here in Colorado, and much of the film in Colorado Springs, and in and at our Friendors’ shop and my favorite coffee shop .coffee.lounge !! We were honored to be invited to participate with our Vintage Camper Bar “Betty” and our Tap Truck “Otho”!! I had never been on a movie set before and I just loved watching the awesome actors and directors and the whole crew work as a well-oiled machine to create this sweet film! It was an amazing experience to be a part of it as an extra with 3 of my BFFs and to see our bars and props in the film in the ‘Vintage Camper Competition’ scene filmed at !! Our FIRST event at Ga***rd Rockies with Otho the Tap Truck and Access DMC was a huge success and so much fun! The folks from the National Potato Council know how to host a party! Their 2023 Potato Expo was amazing! Loved being a part of the vendor team and getting to know the Access team and the Ga***rd Stars! Everyone was so kind, helpful and supportive to one another.

My heart is breaking over this senseless act of hate in our town. Our prayers are with the families who lost love ones and the victims that are recovering. And I stand in absolute awe of the selfless act of the patrons that stepped up sacrificially to stop the shooter before authorities arrived. Wow. Just wow. May we all learn from your example to be brave and selfless and love others more than ourselves.
