Our hearts are full today. In a place where flood waters raged just under three months ago, the owners of Iron Horse Station, Karen & Gary, arranged an army of volunteers and donors and hosted a Santa’s Workshop and Toy Store for the families of Hot Springs and Madison County, NC. The outpouring of generosity is nothing short of a miracle. The families were invited to the historic inn and tavern, which was also damaged by flood waters, and treated to free lunch, pictures with Santa & Mrs Claus and child care while the parents got to shop with no limits. There were gifts for not only the children, but the older teenagers and parents, too. All of this was provided at no cost to them. These families, many who lost everything, will be able to have Christmas this year. We at Hale Entertainment & Photography played a small part by providing our services for the event and pulling together donors of our own. So, we would like to extend a sincere thank you to those who answered our call for donations: Willow Ridge Special Event Center in Townsend, TN, Brent & Jennifer at Jersey Hustle Pizzeria and Bistro - Gatlinburg, Sonya & Neal Anderson - owners of Domino’s Pizza Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, Ron Crivellone at Smokey Mountain Sounds, Trev Grosholz at Rock The Party, Tammy Vanderland and her husband Brian, Kristin Vitt at Blushing Gypsy Events and the many who donated anonymously. There is still time to give! We have been helping the Iron Horse Station collect toys and other gifts for the families of Hot Springs, NC. Nearly every business and many homes were destroyed or severely damaged during Hurricane Helene in this town of 500 in western NC. The Iron Horse Station is hosting a Santa’s Workshop on Sunday December 15th to help provide a Christmas for the local families. We just stopped by the Iron Horse Station to drop off the gifts we have collected so far for the children and families of Hot Springs, NC. We are truly humbled by the outpouring of support we have received from friends, business associates and the people of Gatlinburg, TN. The “Santa’s Workshop” is next Sunday, so there is still time to get involved. We will be making our rounds in Sevier County next Saturday to collect gifts.
