Meet Idabelle Firestone, wife of famous American industrialist, Harvey S. Firestone, founder of the iconic Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, one of the first global makers of automobile tires. In her own right, she was a devoted wife and mother, philanthropist, talented music composer of popular songs in the 1930’s and 1940’s and a dedicated gardener who loved and nurtured flowers and gardens. In 1935, Harvey and Idabelle Firestone gave land and funding for a community park in Harvey’s beloved hometown of Columbiana, the Harvey S. Firestone Recreational Park. Enjoyed by local residents for over 8 decades, today it has been magnificently restored to its former beauty and has been brought into the 21st century by the Restoration and Beautification Committee of Columbiana. This fall, visitors will be able to visit her hilltop memorial in the park, the Idabelle Firestone Gathering Place and Garden, to enjoy free outdoor concerts in her honor.

What is the Idabelle Firestone Concert Series all about?
The goal of this new free outdoor concert series, to debut this Fall at Firestone Park, is to present music of refinement, tradition and elegance that reflects the character and aesthetic of the distinguished architecture and beautiful gardens of the Idabelle Firestone Gathering Place and Garden on the historic Legacy Trail in the park. A composer herself, two of Idablle's songs will be featured as a prelude and postlude -- “If I Could Tell You”will be her opening theme song and “In My Garden” will be her closing theme song at each concert.
