How cute are these mini paint palettes?! Did you know that goody bags are included with each CheckART birthday booking? Each guest will leave with their own bag, and the birthday person receives a special bag as well! Putting together party favors can be expensive and time consuming, let CheckART do it for you!

I had the best time at Valleyview Elementary yesterday morning! The kids got to make light-up wall hangings, which they’ll use as gifts for Mother’s Day!

Printmaking is SO FUN! I made some examples this weekend for an event coming up later this summer and I HAD THE BEST TIME; I think kids are going to love experimenting with different materials to see what types of prints different things make, making their own stamps, and creating banners to hang up at home. I’m so excited to see what they come up with!

Experimenting with adding silhouettes to the plastic lantern project, and they turned out great! Silhouettes will now be available as an add-on option for event bookings. All lanterns come with lights.

It was a busy weekend, with a party both days! I spent Saturday afternoon with the sweetest group of 12 year old girls, making slime and sand paintings. We had the best time, and they were so much fun!

On Sunday, I headed to Hocking Hills Lodge for a birthday party for a 5 year old girl and her group of friends. We made sharpie tye dye back packs, pencil cases, and even drink coozies for the adults! I also brought Plinko for them to play, which is always popular.

I highly recommend sand painting if you have a slime-loving kid! It looks like slime, but lasts a lot longer! You can also add actual slime making and Plinko onto any event booking- message me to find out more!

Hi! My name is Alexis, and I started CheckART Mobile Art Studio as a way to combine two of my life passions; making art, and working with children. I’ve worked in childcare in some capacity for over 25 years, and I’ve been making art my entire life. CheckART is a way for me to share these two things I love so much with other people!

A little more about me:

* I have always loved 3D, functional art, so the things we make at CheckART events are NOT your average run-of-the-mill art projects! Be prepared to use new art materials and learn new techniques!

*I ran the Children’s Area of the Columbus Arts Festival for 7 years. It was a lot of fun, and allowed me to give kids from all over Columbus the chance to experience dozens of different types of hands-on art activities that they otherwise might not have had.

*My husband Ryan and I have been Columbus Crew season ticket holders since 2009. I even host CheckART events at Crew tailgates occasionally!

*I have 2 cats, Riker and Risa, who love to “help” me in my art room at home

*The CheckART logo was designed by one of my former nanny kids! I believe in raising independent, confident children, so you’ll often see kids helping me at CheckART events, and even running some activities on their own! I involve kids in as many aspects of my business as possible, because in my experience, children thrive when they know you believe in them and you give them the chance to be in charge of something on their own.

Check out CheckART’s newest addition to our terrarium projects! Dinosaurs! When you book a terrarium event, you and your guests will start by making your own figures out of clay, and then assemble your terrariums with a wide variety of other materials to create a unique landscape. We’ll even add lights! Alexis will guide you through the entire process to ensure that everyone leaves the event with something they’re excited to show off. Summer is here, school is out, which means….Izzy is available to help me more! Not a moment too soon, either. I’m relinquishing a lot of the social media jobs to her because let’s face it-I’m old and boring, and she’s young and hip 🤣. Not to mention, I really have no idea how Instagram works 😂. RAFFLE BOX MAKEOVER PART TWO: Wow! Sand painting this raffle box took A LOT longer than I even thought it would- but I LOVE it and it was really fun to make. This is the first time I used sand paint on a piece of furniture- when you book sand painting for your event, we start out painting on canvases and then move onto little wood shapes. So there was a learning curve for me but I think it turned out amazing. What do you think?! I’ll be holding raffles for exciting prizes at events throughout the summer, so if you see me out there, stop by and take a closer look- pictures don’t do justice to the texture of the sand paint!
