We are now certified as a MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) and WBE (Women Business Enterprise) organization with the City of Columbus Office of Diversity and Inclusion!

So what does that mean? I'm glad you asked!

We have completed a rigorous verification process that insures potential clients that we are a worthy and capable vendor that happens to be a member of a designated minority group. This also affords us additional opportunities for contracts with government agencies and funding that we may otherwise be overlooked for or shut out from.

Special thanks to City of Columbus Chief Diversity Office Jason Jenkins for pushing us to get it done. We look forward to doing even more business with the City of Columbus.

We're excited to announce that we have been added to National Veterans Memorial and Museum (https://nationalvmm.org/events-programs/) list of distinguished caterers as well!

2024 COAACC Gala

I always hated networking and small talk for my businesses. Reluctantly, I blindly walked into a meeting for the “Black Chamber of Commerce” at LaGlory’s Cafe 5 years ago. I walked out with an order from Jill Frost and J. Averi Frost for 4 beautiful blue cakes and a new relationship that I had no idea would help my catering business for years to come 💙



Fast forward 5 years and 3 Central Ohio African American Chamber of Commerce Galas later, I have not only fully catered the event twice, but also coordinated 8 of the 10 food vendors along with a large on site staff to execute the event this year (4/13/2024).

Thank you Jill and Averi for the opportunity to serve COAACC! And to any business owner afraid to walk into a room - DO IT! You never know what will come out on the other side.

Taking a break to relax & recharge…

I decided 6 years ago, during my 10th year in this business, that I would focus on corporate catering, contracts, and government clients to sustain my business for the future. I pushed hard for it and made a million adjustments along the way. I haven’t celebrated my accomplishments much as of late but…

I’m currently booking a ton of catering business - unfortunately, cakes and desserts had to go on the back burner for a while. Allow our chef to curate a special dining experience, with each course paired with one of our selected wines or wine cocktails. The Chef’s Table Garden Dining experience is meant to inspire and create memorable moments of culinary sights, tastes and conversation.

Our Chef for the evening…

Chef Mieka  has been in love with the kitchen since childhood. That love developed from watching her grandpa L.C., a Dublin, GA native, and her mom Cheryl in the kitchen at a very young age.

After earning a Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University in 2003, the Youngstown, Ohio native returned to culinary school in 2012 to study Baking and Pastry Arts at Columbus State Community College. 

She has worked in a number of fields including property management, retail, real estate, and even liquor sales, all while pursuing her true passion behind the scenes in the kitchen part time. Since going full time with her catering business in 2015, Chef Mieka has added corporate catering, wedding cakes, Private events, and celebrity dinner events to her repertoire. She has been featured in a number of media publications as well as written a dessert cookbook, “Chef Hacks,” which is now available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble websites.

During the COVID-19 epidemic she revived the famous and recently curated the restaurant pop-up concept . She is currently working on several brand ambassador ventures and expanding into multiple food service platforms. Chef Mieka will open her full service catering, commissary, and event space - 36 Events - in Winter 2021-2022.
