I’m hoping they find this child safe, but the amber alert was the worst one ever. Just giving a first name and identifying info other than her clothes, no area or direction of travel. I had already seen a post that was being shared on social media that had better info. A picture, description and a town with a reference to a direction of travel to another town. This was obviously meant originally for local people as very few would know that Rattcliff is in west Arkansas and that Charleston is west of there on AR 22. So this morning there’s a Facebook generated post with info and a button to report a sighting much like the mark safe button. With an updated photo of her and more pertinent information. 2 take aways from this. There was a post that I saw maybe 2 or 3 hours earlier that had more info and had managed to get shared enough for me to see it, before the amber alert went out. Why so vague an alert and why such a delay. The system needs to do better! This kids doesn’t know it, but she’s put herself in mortal danger, and it’s timely concise information that will help find her and bring her home safely.
