What a gift to photograph these two turning into Mr. & Mrs. Kelly!

Emily was the sweet girl that lived across the street when my late husband, Lucas, and I moved into our home years ago. She babysat often and was such a gift to our family.

I remember her first dates with Connor. Two truly good humans, whose paths crossed and were meant for each other. These two are kind, loyal, loving and so much fun! 💗

Her Sister’s words touched my heart: “Connor, I hope you enjoy growing old with her, as much as I enjoyed growing up with her.”

This is what I call the “Grandparent Shot.”

While my vibe is more in the moment, playful and my clients focusing on each other, instead of the camera…I ALWAYS make it a point to get a few intentional shots of everyone looking at me.

Want to know why? At nearly every ordering session with multi-generations, the younger clients want the playful and wild images and the grandparents want little Jack staring down that lens like his life depends on it. 😆💯😍

I have heard so many times, over my 14 years of shooting, that people don’t feel the need for maternity pictures. “They will wait for the newborn pictures, when they look more like themselves.” Nearly every time, they book me for their second child’s maternity session and wish they had done it for their first.

There is something quite magical about expecting your first child. ✨
