After long and hard talks with in our committee group members, we have decided to cancel Summer Fest 2023. We had originally postponed it to September thinking the new park and pavilion would be done in time. With the word lately were it will not be ready we think it is in the best interest to cancel this year. If class reunions want to do their celebration next Summer Fest or when they originally planned they are still encouraged to join in the parade next year. Even though we are canceling Summer Fest keep your eyes open we will be planning on some fun little events. And remember 2024 Summer Fest is a for sure thing.

***UPDATE ***
After meeting today we have decided the best route to take would be to move Summer Fest to September instead having it in July. This way the new park will be finished and we can have the festivities there, also it wont be so crazy hot. As of right now we are shooting for Sept. 8, 9, 10 but not set in stone yet.
We encourage the High School reunions to join us in Sept. as well but we understand if you have already started your planning for July. We will still be having our annual taco feed and silent auction fundraiser but not until July.
Also our next committee meeting will be Sunday April 2 at 5:00 @ The Bent Hinge , please join us!

****Update****
With the overwhelming response to keep Summer Fest going and on main street this year, WE WILL NEED HELP. With that being said we will be holding a meeting on March 12 at 5 PM @ The Bent Hinge on the corner of Main and King st. If you are interested in joining our committee, and helping us continue this town festival please show up with your ideas and dreams of what Summer Fest should be. If we don't have enough people show up and volunteer we will discontinue the planning for this year and plan on possibly trying for July 2024. Thank you all that responded to our post, hopefully we will see you all on the 12!

We just found out the park will not be finished in time for Summer Fest. We were planning on having the festival there this year to avoid the heat and the conflict of closing down main St. It takes alot of work and time to plan the event on main St and we would be willing to do so this year if we can get more community support and volunteers. That being said we would like to poll the community and ask their opinion... would you rather
A) shut down Summer Fest permanently
B ) try again next year at the new park/Pavillion
C) get more volunteers to help the committee make it happen again this year down town and then move to the park next year

Join us tonight at 6pm at the Cottonwood city park for the kids dance and movie in the park! We will have barbecued hotdogs🌭 a small bag of chips and a soda or water for $5. The bounce house will be up and running! The music will be jamming! And the move will start at dark. See you there!

It has come to our attention that this year's color fun run has been canceled due to lack of sign ups and concerns over the heat. We apologize on behalf of Cottonwood Summer Fest, and hope to have this event back next year! We still hope to see you Friday night for the kids dance & movie in the park!
