Lights at Legion Kickoff + Mistletoe Market 2024 is Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the first night all the business, organization, and family sponsored trees will be decorated and lit at Legion Field! To complement all the beautifully decorated trees, the Mistletoe Market will be set up in the Legion Field parking lot with 50 artisans, bakers, wood turners, craft makers, and more. And even if you're watching a specific sporting event that starts in the late afternoon on Saturday, you'll still have time to come out to the Kickoff! The evening will also include:
🎀 Santa from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
🎀 Free books provided by Newton County Schools L4GA grant
🎀 Food trucks: Chick-fil-A Covington - Issa Funnel - MaddLulu
🎀 Face painting for a nominal fee by Facepainting Fairies
🎀 Christmas movie shorts on a big screen
🎀 Ice skating will be OPEN! Visit icedays.com/covington for hours and prices. ***Even though the Legion Field parking lot will be closed to vehicular traffic/parking, ice skating will be open. Please park on Newton Drive to access the ice skating rink.***
🎀 Voting for People's Choice Awards: Choose your favorite Business, Organization, and Family trees. Voting only available at the Kickoff!
🎀Did we mention 175+ uniquely decorated trees & Covington Farmers Market Mistletoe Market?!?

There will be no parking allowed in Legion Field. Parking will be available on Newton Drive and around Sharp Stadium. Handicap parking will be graciously provided by HM Family Dental in their parking lot which is located across the street from Legion Field.

One.

I was able to capture one pic at a church festival a couple of weeks ago.

Between our 3 painters and all the happy faces, I only had time to snap one. And this one design was by memory, not practiced in a year.

Regardless, the smile he gave on the mirror (not the pic) told me he was very happy. And that’s what counts in busy, busy Octobers!

Who hires facepainters? Even restaurants do! Hacienda in McDonough is offering FREE FACEPAINTING Fri and Sat night of this weekend if you patron their restaurant, and they have a great patio! And… I will be there on HALLOWEEN too! This was from last weekend there!

A special thanks to Children’s Heathcare of Atlanta, Camp Twin Lakes, and my friend Michelle Whitte from Chelle Facepainting Events and Entertainment for letting me paint on behalf of her company! These kids were so happy with their paintings! Best part - iInwas complimented by the CHOA liaison for my abilities to work so well with the kids! (Only captured a few pics from the night).

Most fall events cancelled today due to the storms this week. We have decided to set up outside Curvy Market Resale and offer fall painting and glitter tattoos for a nominal fee. Bring the kids by and do a little shopping for yourself too!

To help a child smile...

A few years ago, some friends taught me how to face paint. I was ok at it....learned the basics...made some kids smile. It was trade I “dabbled” in. Here and there I would paint for an event, occasionally. Each time I improved. A school, a fall festival, a birthday party. Chick-Fil-A, a Rec Dept event. Then last year, opportunity came knocking and I answered. Grabbing my friend Emily, we became very good at what we do, and we did so by being at so many events! We have become your facepainter of choice! And we LOVE it! We love that you invite us to your events, and that you value what we do. We love being in all these communities and most importantly, we do not take for granted the smiles on each child’s face when we turn those mirrors around! Pure joy - for both of us! We have just welcomed a 3rd painter and have requested a 4th to return to us, for we are busy, busy painters! And it’s because of YOU! You make US smile!
