The fall clean up has begun. My bff helped me cut down about half of the flowers yesterday 😢 It’s bittersweet as I don’t know what my garden will look like next year. Taking a step back from flowers and seeing what happens with the housing market.

In the mean time, I’ll probably have a few flowers here and there over the next 2 weeks, with plans for a dahlia tuber sale this fall.

Zinnias were my first love. They come in many different colors and a few different shapes and sizes. They are one of the easiest flowers to grow and I’d recommend them to any home gardener!

This year I only grew Benary, Oklahoma, and Queen Lime varieties. This one pictured here, Oklahoma Salmon, was a consistent producer all summer long.

Ranunculus update! I didn’t have great luck last year (planted in crates which were moved to the shade when it got to be 90°). This year I planted them in the garden and let nature take it from there 🤷🏻‍♀️ I definitely got more blooms, from less corms, but I’m not sure I will do them again next year.

✨ Baptisia aka Wild Indigo ✨

Baptisia is a perennial, which is a plant that comes back year after year with little maintenance. Like baptisia, many perennials bloom in the spring here in New England, including crocuses, narcissus, hellebore, shasta daisies, iris, bleeding hearts, and yarrow.

Baptisia is new to me this year. Which perennial is your favorite?

This tulip is considered a parrot tulip because of the way the petals have ruffles on the edges.
