I get asked a lot if this is busy season for weddings, and the answer is yes—but not in Houston! Our season is flip flopped with those “up north.” So a lot of wedding industry folks will travel for work and help out other florists on their weddings, or they take advantage of the couple months of slow time and prep for the busy season ahead. (Which is what I do 😂.)

Let’s talk about Lily of the Valley (LotV). I see a lot of requests for it, without any idea of the investment. So to help save you some time and heartbreak let me tell ya. Each LotV stem (on average) retails with us for about $20.00. Yes, that tiny stem will cost you $20. And you might ask how many stems are in this bouquet? 30. I’ll let you do the math how much it costs just to have that LotV. The problem comes in with the amount of stems needed to create the look I know you all want, because we have LOTS of different flowers that might cost on average between $20-30 easy, but they take up a lot of space so the instant value is there. Now, if you are having a wedding in the spring and up in the northern states in America, this starting price of $20 might not be applicable to you because it grows very happily up there. So in order for us to get it, growers and distributors must put in the care to get it to us safely. That adds up! Hope this price transparency helps. Comment your questions below! I do have substitutions I recommend instead of LotV!

Repurposing your ceremony decor is an awesome thing to do, if done well. Too many times I see repurposing that isn’t, well… purposeful. This wedding was the perfect example though of making everything go where it MAKES SENSE and making it work for the space given. Ceremony arch was kept in its place, turning into the center backdrop for the dance floor, and then the ceremony meadows were used as centerpieces. (These were specifically made no taller than 10 inches in order for them to sit on the table and not impede guests’ view.) worked diligently on this design and ex*****on to make sure we accounted for every single meadow! .loves.flowers
