I've just returned home after evacuating from Hurricane Milton, and I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. Miraculously, my home survived unscathed, with only some downed trees and branches. But it's the simple things that bring me joy today:

- A warm bed to sleep in
- Running water
- Lights to illuminate my way
- A warm bath to wash away the stress
- Most importantly, my entire family is safe and sound

Seeing the devastation others have endured puts my blessings into perspective. I've learned that these "bare essentials" are truly gifts from above. In my later years, I've come to realize how fortunate I am and how much God has blessed me.

I pray that I may live up to His expectations and fulfill the purpose He has for me. Today, I'm humbled and thankful for the simple things that bring me comfort and peace.

We will continue to pray for those who have lost these things and loved ones.

Hurricane Milton Update

As Hurricane Milton's track shifts south, our concerns remain high. Many of our friends will face a direct hit, and we urge everyone to take this seriously.

Don't underestimate the danger: Please don't assume someone else will take care of you or that you can ride out the storm. Leave for 24 hours and return when it's safe. Your life is worth more than any property.

We love calling Florida home, despite the risks. Unlike other natural disasters, hurricanes offer advance warning. Let's use this time to prepare.

Have a plan: Time is running out. If you don't have a plan, please make one now. We're here to help spread the word if you need assistance.

After this storm passes, we'll likely see significant changes in Florida's infrastructure to mitigate future risks. We're committed to making permanent changes to protect our home and community.

Stay safe, stay informed:

- Monitor weather updates
- Follow evacuation orders
- Prioritize your life and loved ones

We're here for each other. If you need help or have updates to share, don't hesitate to reach out.

Love to all, stay safe!

Before I head to bed, I wanted to share the latest update on our hurricane preparations. Unfortunately, we've decided to evacuate, but we're still figuring out where to go. Our plan is to leave before the storm makes land fall and return when it passes to assess the damage, hoping our home is still standing and our friends are safe.

As we prepare to face the unknown, I'm reminded of the importance of community. Please prioritize your safety, and don't forget to protect your beloved pets and animals.

This hurricane feels like a nightmare, but I'm inspired by the resilience and kindness of our neighbors in North Carolina and here in Florida. They are and have been looking out for each other like family. They have set a good example of what true compassion is and how we should be with each other.

If you need assistance or have offers of help, please reach out. Stay connected and keep us updated on your situation.

May God bless and protect us all. Stay safe, and may our homes and communities emerge stronger than ever.

Love to all

Good morning, everyone! I wanted to take a moment to update you all on our journey since the accident. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for your love and support during this challenging time. Normally, we'd be taking a break between our June festival in Cherokee and our next event in August in Marion, NC. However, this year has been different. We've been working tirelessly to prepare and recover from our losses.

I have to say, it's been a wild ride building a business in the music industry, where the odds are against us from the start. But we've never let that stop us. And this year, we've come to realize just how far we've come. The biggest reward hasn't been the success or the accolades, but the relationships we've built with all of you. When we started our festival venture, it was about the love of music. But as we grew, we had to choose between being performers or promoters. We chose the latter, and it's been an incredible journey. We've created a family, not just a festival. And our staff has been instrumental in making that happen.

This week, we're gearing up for our return to the mountains, which is always a challenge. As nervous as we are getting back in the saddle, we are thinking about how much we miss you all.

You're the reason we do what we do and your friendship is clearly our biggest reward. We cannot wait to see you and thank you in person.

Please keep the family of the Nelons in your thoughts and prayers after their tragic loss." This week on the way to perform. There are great rewards but they do not come without risks. We had the pleasure to meet them more than 20 years ago and occasionally perform with them, they were such sweet people. We cannot stop thinking about them.

TOURBADOUR BLUE signed to EMS Spring Bluegrass Fest in Brooksville, Florida: It's exciting to see where these young writers and singers are taking their music. It's hard to say where it all belong but acoustic guitars, fiddle, killer 3 part harmonies? I think we'll take it.

I know you will enjoy this group. They have been working hard with Tammy Rogers of the Steeldrivers and this summer you will see them on tour together.

We are proud to be a tour stop for them and the Steeldrivers.
Check then out... Then, come and see them live at Florida Sand Music Ranch next March.

WE ARE LOSING ALL OF OUR LEGENDS

Well, things are getting better here at home but the news of Cliff Waldron passing yesterday made me stop and think about what has happened to bluegrass music. Don't get me wrong, I love what has happened and all of the creativity I have enjoyed since I was 12 years old. But, the music the pioneers made was not broke. They are the reason we see such a variety because their music encouraged so many to pursue it.

I hate that it takes losing such an important contributor to go back and listen to what made me fall in love with this music and all of the people I have been so lucky to meet. I was just a kid laying on the floor next to the speakers of our record player because there was so much noise in the house growing up with a big family.

Hearing Cliff and Bill sing together was real mountain soul. I am not sure a 12 year old is supposed to feel long lost and lonesome but there was no way not to when you heard these kats. Their music is responsible for me later learning who the Osborne brothers and so any more of the great were

Bill Emerson passed away in 2021 and Cliff Waldrom died yesterday. May they rest in peace and not be forgotten. There are not many like them left and some are still playing but winding down.

Please support them anyway you can and at the very least, tell them thank you for all they have done. We still get to keep the recording of their music but it's not the same as letting them know while they are alive.

Nominate them any time you can, vote for them when you see their names. Do what you can to make sure they get one more chance to see an award being handed to them. Teach the young players who they are and what they brought to the music that they are now interested in playing.
