Come and visit me at the Adel Farmers Market at the Dallas County fair grounds!! I’m currently fundraising for my Girl Scout Gold project and am using my face paint money to fund my project!! My project is to continue to placing signs along the Raccoon River Valley Trail! Adriana and I enjoyed a great evening in Pattee park for Perry’s Fest w’ Suede. Thankful Sonshine Face Painting was invited by Perry Chamber of Commerce. We enjoyed the music and meal the Perry Fire Department / Perry Fire First Responders shared with us. So many fun things to do tonight.

Adriana presented her Girl Scout Gold Project to those visiting our tent for face painting. She is fundraising to be able to place 10,000 Steps to Wellness signs along all 14 communities on the Raccoon River Valley Trail. These signs promote health and wellness by encouraging trail users to walk the daily recommended 10,000 steps. She has already placed signs along the trail in Dallas Center as a part of her Silver Project. The hope is she can raise enough money to continue this to every community on the trail. Tonight we face painted and requested free will donations. Those who visited our tent for face painting were generous with her. It was a good time and I think those painted enjoyed it.

Would you consider making a contribution to her project? If yes, we’ve added our Venmo and Paypal accounts. Also, face painting is an easy way for her to earn money to fund her project. Our availability is sometimes a challenge, but if you know someone willing to make a donation in exchange for face painting, please let one of us know and we’ll see if we can make it happen!

Saturday afternoon Adriana and I painted at the Perry Latino Festival for the Perry Public Library. Every time I’m with them it just feels like family. FUN FACT: I worked multiple years as a library clerk in Perry. My first face paintings were done to raise money for Relay for Life with Team Bookworm. Later, my first paid job was for Take your Child to the library day! I love what I do and I’m glad the library encouraged me to pursue face painting! 😊

It’s been a busy last couple of days! Friday night I painted at the Dallas Center Fall Festival. It felt a little lonely and lines were long because my side-kick had other commitments with 4-H and Old Tyme Photos. But, there is something SUPER SPECIAL about painting faces you know and recognize. I L❤️VE our little community! Plus it’s such a feeling of love and value when you’ve got kiddos seeking you out for the face painting! Thanks Dallas Cemter aresidents for ALWAYS supporting Adriana and I!

SO stinking proud of this kid! Many local friends know she has been face painting for over a year trying to raise funds for a Girl Scout trip to Europe in 2021. She also just finished her Girl Scout Bronze Project. It is a Pet Blessing Box. The concept is the same as a little library, but it contains items for pets. The box has only been going in Dallas Center for a couple of weeks, it saw almost immediate action. but currently it is almost empty. After tonight’s job she asked if we could go spend the money she earned to buy things to fill the box. Both my heart and the box are full tonight. Our cat Cheeto approves!
