As we dive into the heart of wedding season, the hustle and bustle of planning, coordinating, and creating magical moments for our couples is in full swing. While it’s a time filled with joy, love, and celebration, it’s also a time when the pace can get overwhelming, and stress often sneaks in. In the midst of the busy season, I’ve found that one of the best ways to center myself and bring a bit of calm is by giving back.
This year, I’m reminded that there are so many who aren’t as fortunate, and while we are surrounded by love and abundance, others are facing real hardships. Choosing to donate a portion of your time or resources to help those in need whether it's contributing to a local food bank, volunteering, or supporting a charity, finding a way to lift someone else up is an incredible way to not only ease the stress but also spread love beyond the weddings we plan.
I received this wonderful letter from a recent donation to Bethany Christian School. Dr. Martin J Effa and Mrs. Sara Effa https://www.drmjeffa.com/index.html came to me in the most unexpected way and I couldn't help but want to help where I could. While I feel it was a very small donation, the gratitude I have had since receiving their sweet notes from the owner of a Burundi wedding dress rental company has made me feel there is some personal worth in our every busy, stressful, and sometimes unforgiving industry. The sweetest most prescious gift I received from them was when they opened my wedding dress from it's preservation and found this handwritten note from my mother-in-law who has passed away years ago and somehow snuck this in there. They returned it safely to me and what a surprise and such heartfelt moment it was when I received this.
I encourage all of you, especially during busy times, to pause and think about ways we can all help those who need it most. It’s amazing how much relief we can feel when we focus on kindness and generosity. Let’s keep spreading love in every way we can!
