There shall be four classifications of members and all members shall be elected to membership as described in paragraph 3 of the membership section. Active performing members who will assume all responsibilities of membership
B. Inactive members who are unable to attend meetings but wish to remain affiliated with Pro Musica by paying annual dues
C. Associate members who will attend meeting
s and assume all responsibilities of active membership except performing and
D. Emeritus (honorary) members who will not pay dues.
2. Membership shall not be limited to any specific number, but may be increased as the need arises, in order that Pro Musica continue the progressive policy established at its beginning, thus preventing its becoming a static organization.
3. A prospective active performing member's name shall be presented by a letter of recommendation writte by an active performing member, signed by the sponsoring member and two other active members of Pro Musica, and shall be submitted to the screening committee at least one week prior to the next regular meeting. All other categories of prospective members may be presented by any member of Pro Musica by a letter of recommendation written by and signed by the sponsoring member and two other members of Pro Musica and be submitted to the screening committee at least one week prior to the next regular meeting. The screening committee shall consist of all officers, plus any additions at the discretion of the Chairman. Upon acceptance by the screening committee, the letter of recommendation shall be read at the next meeting, and voting by ballot shall take place. An affirmative vote by 4/5 majorities of those present will be necessary for the election of a new member.
