Ms. Joan Mathis is a supporter of KOS. She is a Mary Piper Stevens (a national award for outstanding teaching) recipient. She has been a long time educator with Paris Junior College and was in the first class of African American students to attend PJC. A park is named in her honor in Paris. Ms Mathis has enjoyed taking her grandchildren and great grandchildren to KOS events across northeast Texas. KOS is proud to honor such inspirational figures in our communities.
