💈 Jonathan Jouben Jr 💈 Live in color at 9-5 barbershop in Dayton, TN
Today we take a break from our regularly scheduled bluegrass content to bring you something very special. Creating MSBJ has allowed me to shake hands with some wonderful people that I would have never met. This is one of those people. Mr. Jonathan Jouben Jr. was there at our first show for bluegrass. When I heard him sing this song off stage I knew I needed to record it. One day while getting a haircut I realized what better place than here to shoot this video at? I’m not a videographer by any means however I gave it a college try. Thank you Amanda at 9-5 barbershop for letting us shoot this video in your shop.
Listen folks…serious business…this right here is what it’s all about. During the show I stepped outside to go around back stage. There were some young men out there playing. I thought I had probably scheduled them to play and asked what band they were. They didn’t have a name, and seemed confused as to why I was asking. They were just there playing outside. So I offered them a slot on stage and they jumped on it. Quickly came up with a set and took to the stage like stars to the Opry. The mandolin player here, Logan, plays banjo with The Appalachian Stringband and if the bass player looks familiar he was with that band as well. We look forward to featuring this band at nexts months show or one in the future. For now they are just know as The Parking Lot Pickers. Also, there must be something going on good at Papaw Odell’s much of the talent there were sporting hats. Maybe next time we will get to meet more of the papaw gang. The PLB’s are (L to R) Jack Hyatt, Crews Chastain, Logan Cross, Peyton O’Neal, and Tom Costello.
Appalachian String Band
The Appalachian Stringband showed up and showed out last night. They brought a unique blend of old time and traditional bluegrass. I don’t know about yall but we want MORE! ASB is composed of Wes Cepin, Matt Parks, Logan Cross, and Tom Costello
Highway 302… the band that kicked off the very first MSBJ show. They brought us all to church last night with a wonderful lineup of sacred numbers. Listen in as Rev. Aaron Revis rousts the crowd to participate in singing I’ll Fly Away. (L to R) Steve Miller, Larry Miller, Jap Miller, Jonathan Jouben, Aaron Revis, Shane Caraway.
