Magic Nate The Tricking Man. Magician with Anti-Authority Issues

The rope trick I do early in the show called The Professors Nightmare is in there for a few reasons. 1: By far the lightest and easiest to pack trick in the show. 2: There is zero reset. There’s no secret hidden mechanism that needs to be switching in/out. I can literately take the ropes at any time, hand them out for examination, take them back, and ready to go. And 3: It’s the trick I remember seeing a magician do live when I was a kid that completely blew me away. I learned this trick when I was 10 years old, I’ve been doing it for 29 years, I’ll admit that I am pretty damn good at it, and yet it still pales in comparison to the memory I had watching that other magician perform it at a birthday party growing up. It’s an experience I hope to pass on to others

My daughter singing tonight: “Hark hear the bells. Sweet silver bells. All seem to say. Magic Nate is great.”

I 100% forgot I taught her those were the words last year 😬

It just occurred to me that many years ago, when I was first starting out and things were starting to move along, I was pretty excited for what, at the time, was my largest single pay day for doing magic. Someone close said, “I can’t believe anybody would pay that much just for magic.” Yesterday I was paid 10 times that amount. Take that original number, add a zero to the end, and that was yesterday’s revenue.

So my best piece of advice today is don’t listen to the naysayers

Another successful Holiday Company Party for 2025. Did a photoshoot session with .allen.photography, lunch at , and then a quick stop over for some great gift shopping at where they let up play around with the spinning camera rig. Big thanks to and for making this year so much fun!

It’s called a Duck Bucket. It’s a means of making an object, traditionally a duck, appear or disappear. It’s not very common because professionally manufactured Duck Buckets go for around $500-$900. They’re the exotic cars of the magic industry. Collectors buy them and then never use them because they don’t want to scuff up their expensive toy. The one I am building is being assembled out of an old home made ice cream machine I picked up off of market place for $10. So far with the added in scraps and hardware I am adding to make it a trick my total costs is hovering right around $28. And I will be using this one in the show
