Well HECK y'all. It's been a long time since I've been on this page. I hope everyone is healthy. I also hope you're all still curious and exploring food.

I've been cooking a bit more lately and trying to get back into my joy. I'm currently running a non profit that gets mental health and substance use recovery resources to folks in the hospitality/ restaurant industry. It's super important work that is wonderfully meaningful.

AND I miss teaching cooking! I miss it so much. Please let me know if you are interested in learning how to cook in your own home. I'd be happy to offer some menu options and get you cooking comfortably in your own space.

Here's some pics from the week. Rhubarb dessert from Smitten Kitchen, Jerk Lentils with Meati and Pineapple Salsa, and Beer Butt Chicken.

What is Chef Erin Cooks?

I am offering virtual cooking classes in your kitchen.

How do I take a class? Sign up through my website, cheferincooks.com and you will be sent a list of ingredients, recipes, and the link for the class.

Who is Chef Erin? I am a professional chef, trained by the Culinary Institute of America. I have learned under some amazing chefs in San Francisco, Washington D.C., New York, and Denver. In Denver I was fortunate to work at Rioja, Root Down, and Elways. After years in restaurants I left to try teaching. At Cook Street Culinary School, I really started learning the hows and whys of cooking, the science. I love teaching the technique and sharing the science to help cook improve their skills. My favorite food is toast.

I offer classes in various cuisines, techniques, and in baking. During the safer at home phase, let’s have some fun and make at home food that is so good you won’t miss going out. Please note, if you are on a tight budget but want to take a class, email me, and we’ll make it work.
