The big star here is dahlia Cafe au Lait! She’s a popular dahlia in the flower world and I had avoided her my first year … and now I see why she’s popular. She’s gorgeous!
And everything you see here was grown from seed here on our farm!
This one bloomed with some pinky magenta streaks that paired perfectly with some spun sugar celosia…all for a special Birthday order last weekend! Whoever got this bouquet for their birthday is a lucky girl!

Do you like yellow flowers?
I let my son take some photos this morning and he focused in on Zinnias. They come in so many colors and sizes from the size of a quarter to the size or bigger than your hand!
I didn’t plant any yellow ones this year and I’m kinda regretting it. Do you like yellow flowers?

The sweet peas were in bloom just in time for a special baptism day arrangement for our family! I made my son smell it (even though he pretend gagged) to make a memory 😂 BUT hear me out…
Did you know that smell-related memories can be more accurate and last longer than picture memories? For so many more years too!! I definitely!
When I smell real garden roses, I instantly am transported back in time to my wedding day 12 years ago and all the emotions and feelings I had just rush back to memory! And our first apartment because they were so fragrant they filled the whole apartment for a week and our freezer for years (don’t ask my why I didn’t know to preserve flowers back then!)! Those were real garden roses and not the imported kind that don’t have scent.
You bet I’ll be growing these forever now haha

The Zinnias are starting to trickle in! This year I am growing more zinnias bred by and ! It’s kind of a big deal!
Zinnias are usually really color-saturated and don’t have a ton of dimension to them as solid colors. These zinnias have been bred for years and some@varieties have just been released to the world this year.
I’m so excited to announce that our Summer bouquets will include these beauties!

A little spotlight for Ranunculus. She starts out as a tight bud and then unfurls her thinner-than paper petals that get ruffly as they age!
Salmon and Champagne were my most productive varieties this year, followed by Purple Jean and Cream and Picotee. White was a very poor producer for me this year - but I’ll take all the color anyway!

Growing Ranunculus is a labor of love. It’s a high maintenance flower but it’s so beautiful and lasts longer than roses… so she’ll have a place on the farm for a while 🥰

This week concludes our (Early) Spring Flower CSA Subscription!
I am so, so grateful for everyone who participated by signing up for a flower subscription, for all the friends and new flower friends that have cheered me along, for my family who has put up with so much dirt in the house and all the paper plates 😂
The truth is that Spring is a little bit crazy and super muddy and dirty because while you’re picking tulips, washing them and stripping leaves off, storing them and taking care of them, you’re also starting lots of summer flower seeds and getting the season up and running for the beauty to go around. Thank you for being here and for all your support! I can’t wait for our late Spring subscription to start! We have 2 more spots left and it runs for 3 weeks!

Waiting on the last few zinnias to have mature seed to harvest for next summer! zinnias are so beautiful!
And a bonus Iceland poppy… a few stuck around for the summer and since it’s cooled down, they started to bloom here and there.
