Guys, today I want to share something that has been weighing on me heavy. And as one who doesn’t like to get too personal on this platform, this is hard for me.🖤

This year has been HARD. Like really, really hard. It’s been hard personally, professionally, financially, ALL the things. It’s been so hard that at times it’s had me question where I’m at and if I need to give up on this dream of mine and be more practical.

It’s had me spiraling on social media, comparing myself to other planners and wondering why I’m not “good enough” or why the bookings have stopped coming in. It’s had me scrolling for hours on LinkedIn wondering if it’s time for a career change, but then getting sad because I don’t want to do anything else but what I’m doing now. It’s had me asking my husband to pick up overtime hours to help in this hard season. It’s had me questioning every business decision I’ve made thus far, and question all my future ones as well.

And here’s what I realized: I can’t be the only one. I can’t be the only one worrying behind closed doors, because everyone here is a real person who is so much more than pretty pictures on their instagram page. And we all are struggling in some capacity, especially as a wedding planner in an industry that’s considered a “luxury”. And just because they are sharing incredible experiences, it doesn’t mean they aren’t struggling either.

So often we forget that there are real people behind these accounts. Real people with real families and real lives and real struggles. And I caught myself forgetting that.

You know what else I’ve realized? That in this season of struggle, I started to worship my work, instead of worshipping my God. I realized that I am so fixated on being successful, that I lost sight of the bigger picture. That I need to adjust my focus and stop worshipping something that isn’t real, and trust in a God who has always provided. 🫶🏼

So here’s to all of us that are silently struggling. I see you. And you are not alone, especially with a God that loves us.

Swipe to see one of the most sentimental and intentional first looks we’ve had the honor of witnessing. 🥹

While on one of our final phone calls, M + D told me about an anniversary box they would be sealing during their ceremony to be opened on their 10 year anniversary.

In the box, they would seal it shut with mementos from the wedding day and letters they wrote for their “10 year from now” spouse.

But what I didn’t realize was that throughout the day they would carry around a Polaroid camera to document moments throughout their day, from each others perspective.

As I looked through their album, I was taken away at this precious moment that was documented. At how intentional, thoughtful, and meaningful this simple gesture of taking Polaroids could be. The thought of M + D opening this box and remembering this moment brings me to tears.

It is in these moments that I’m reminded how blessed I am to witness these moments. I will never take these days for granted. 🖤

When your veil needs its own moment. 🫶🏼

But for real, probably the most incredible veil I have witnessed in my years in the wedding industry. It was the absolute perfect addition to E’s gown, “Rose”, with hand painted florals.

And the blusher? The icing on the cake. 👌🏼
