COLDHARBOUR MILL - ONE OF THE OLDEST WORKING MILLS IN THE WORLD!
Situated in Uffculme, Devon, this grade II listed building is one of the oldest working mills in the world, continuously producing yarn, cloth, and textiles since 1797. Originally owned by the renowned textile producers 'Fox Brothers', this historic mill has a rich heritage that lives on today.

Originally a corn and grist mill dating back to medieval times, also recorded in the Doomsday Book, the Fox Brothers transformed it into a hub for wool production.
Fleece from around the world arrived at the mill, where it was spun into yarn, woven into cloth, and crafted into textiles.

The mill played a crucial role during the industrial revolution in the southwest.
Thomas Fox believed in taking care of people, notably refused to employ children younger than 8 years old, even though other companies employed children as young as 4.
Their commitment to fair treatment and ethical practices set them apart in the textile industry.

Today, Coldharbour Mill stands as one of the finest working wool museums.

BUT, what goes bump in the night?
In the dead of night, doors and gates rattle as if nudged by unseen hands. Footsteps can be heard from the floors above, and the sound of the old machinery can be heard running, which upon inspection would appear completely silent. The Fox family still wander the halls, and shadowy forms watch from dark corners.

Are you brave enough to experience what Coldharbour Mill has to offer?

MANSION HOUSE - CARDIFF
This grade II listed building was built in 1896 for James Howell, of Howell Department Store in Cardiff.
The house was known then as 'The Grove'.
For many years, the Mansion House served as the official residence of the Lord Mayor of Cardiff.
Civic occasions and events were hosted within its opulent walls.
The Lord Mayor’s role and responsibilities were closely tied to this grand Victorian house.

An interesting feature of the house is that it was designed to be divided into two sections, with two front doors and a wall in the cellar allowing for upward expansion.

In 1913, the Cardiff Corporation purchased the Mansion House and a major overhaul was carried out in 1998. Since then it has been used by the Cardiff Council for various events, civil ceremonies, weddings, and as the base for their protocol team.

BUT, what goes bump in the night?
Visitors have reported unexplained chills, faint whispers, and the sensation of being watched, some have reported glimpses of a gentleman in Victorian attire, sometimes seen near the grand staircase or in the drawing room.

James Howell, the original owner of the Mansion House, is said to linger within its walls.
On moonlit nights, strains of piano music are said to emanate from the ballroom. Yet, when the room is investigated, it stands empty, the keys untouched.

Is it the ghostly echo of a forgotten soirée, or something more otherworldly?

Will you step into the Mansion House’s embrace? Will you peer into the darkness and ask, “Who lingers here?"

OLD FORDE HOUSE - NEWTON ABBOT
Old Forde House, a magnificant grade I listed manor house dating back to 1545.

The original house, much smaller than what it is today was built by John Gaverock. The original house can still be seen today with the original front door still in place.

The house was sold to Richard Reynell of the Middle Temple, who from 1610 re-built and enlarged the property. The house is built with an 'E' shape floor plan, which may have been in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth I who had recently died.

It is said that King Charles I had stayed a couple of nights here on his way to Plymouth, the house also sheltered Oliver Cromwell and Sir Thomas Fairfax before the second siege of Exeter in 1646.

Old Forde House after a long history was sold in 1938 to the Sellick Family who used the house for an antiques business.

The house is now owned by Teignbridge District Council who purchased it in 1978.

The house still contains original pieces such as the front door to the older house, staircase and wooden panelling. The old stove and butler's bells are still in-situe.

BUT, what goes bang in the night?
Old Forde House has many documented hauntings over it's history. A ghostly figure of a lady dressed in white with flowing gowns has been seen walking the ground floor corridor, footsteps heard in the next room. It's been said that staff members have been locked in rooms whilst working, and the feeling of being watched at all times.

On previous occacions we have experienced incredible SLS Camera footage, full-blown estes method conversations with the other side and amazing scrying sessions, sometimes scary!

Visit Old Forde House to get a sensation of what it would have been like during it's heyday. Be mesmerised by the original ornate furnishings still can be seen today hundreds of years later.

Investigate who and what still lurks in this house, and who'll be willing to talk....

GREAT FULFORD - EXETER
Great Fulford has been the home of the Fulford family for over 800 years.

This magnificent grade I listed home lies within the historic parish of Dunsford, near Exeter and is listed within the Doomsday Book.

The current house was built in the early 1500s and is known as a semi-fortified mansion.

The property changed hands many times during the English Civil War, starting off as a Royalist Stronghold and captured by parliamentary forces in 1642, handing back and forth until 1646.

However, due to it's long history and the conflicts that have taken place over the years, the house has been through remodelling, repairs and renovations.

BUT, what goes bang in the night?
Doors slamming of their own accord, and family members waking in the night and finding themselves pinned to their beds.

On our previous investigations at this isolated location we have experienced ghostly shadows hushed conversations and chilling temperature drops.

The Ballroom being particularly menacing, and very active.

Great Fulford, in our opinion is the most fascinating, historical home in Devon.

Do not miss out on this opportunity to visit one of the most haunted house's in Devon.

BEER CAVES - BEER, SEATON
Beer Quarry Caves are a fascinating man-made complex of underground caverns located near the village of Beer in Devon.

The caves have a rich history, with evidence of quarrying dating back over 2,000 years. The Romans were among the first to work in these quarries, which supplied the famous Beer Stone.

The caves provided stone for numerous iconic structures, including 24 cathedrals, such as Exeter and St. Paul’s, parts of Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, Hampton Court, and Windsor Castle.

After the Protestant Reformation and the subsequent persecution of Catholics, local Catholics sought refuge in the darkened depths of the caves. They held secret masses, defying the religious restrictions of the time.

Quarrymen worked tirelessly in the dimly lit caves, often by the flickering light of tallow candles.

Armed with hand tools such as picks and saws, they chipped away at the Beer Stone, extracting massive blocks from the cave walls.

During the 1750s an explosion in the tunnels took the lives of about 47 quarrymen.

BUT, what goes bang in the night?
Visitors often report eerie sensations, unexplained sounds, and strange occurrences while exploring the dark and winding passages.

Many have seen a young boy, in ripped trousers in a certain area, as well as a monk being seen pondering in the secret chapel.

With the caves’ long history of human labor and the echoes of ancient rituals, it's no wonder this underground cathedral has a story to tell for those brave enough to venture in it.
