When Streetwear fashion from middle America, aka Oklahoma, meets whimsical Boho from the PNW, a beautifully unique and artful style filled with vibrant color blossoms. Emily & Landon’s wedding embodied exactly this vibe. From bobbleheads and Nike Airs, to lace and wildflowers, the two of them created a wedding that reflected each of their hearts and personalities. Designing flowers for this wedding was both a creative challenge and an artistic blessing as it nudged us into a slightly different realm of design.

Part 2
This is a continuation of the previous post for Lauren & Colton's citrusy summer wedding…
Many of the weddings that we have designed flowers for contain numerous personal flowers to be worn as a position of honor. There is a lot of thought and detail put into each piece. We simply think it is sweet to include flowers in the father's boutonniere and the mother's corsage that are also in their daughter's bride's bouquet. The groom's boutonniere usually contains some of the same flowers that are in the bride's bouquet as well. And yes, we do mirror some of the flowers between the personals that the mother and father are wearing and that of the groom's boutonniere. Call us sentimental or romantic souls if you wish, but that is just what we are about - unique custom designs for a very personal, special day.

Lauren & Colton chose a summer day filled with sunshine and sweet citrus colors that reflected their joy and radiance for each other. We had never worked with a color palette this vibrant before, but it was a truly delightful experience. The citrus tones really contrasted beautifully with the navy suits and the softness of the bridesmaids dresses, while the clean whites and the fresh green rolling hills at The View At Hillside Barn were the perfect foil for glowing dahlias, zinnias, and many other wildflowers that were among the brides favorites. Even though we have known both families for years, this wedding was a lovely, enjoyable opportunity to get to know them better!

Sometimes the fairytale comes true in a season a bit different than you ever dreamed or imagined. This was the story for our sweet cousin Anne. Love came for Anne and Joey unexpectedly, but it was oh so perfect once it arrived! While their wedding was all about family, and honoring traditions, it was stunningly beautiful in its simplicity. With their love for the outdoors and her chic elegant style, our goal was to create bouquets that reflected these elements. As The Best Aunt Ever, her oldest niece was her bridesmaid, and the younger niece and nephew were the flower girl and ring bearer – each having a special part in the happily ever after.

A year ago we were so privileged to have our nephew and his fiancé ask us to design flowers for their wedding. Of course were thrilled to be asked. Since that time, great tragedy and grief has heightened our sense of awareness of how blessed we were to have had the opportunity to be a part of their special day. Their trust in our creative work allowed this to be one of the easiest weddings we have ever done. They simply told us to make it beautiful and gave us a range of colors that they loved. While our hearts are still broken for the loss, we will always remember the spirit of that day and the beautiful couple that it embodied. Thank you Isabelle & Dylan! .bradford

As we prepare for our next wedding, there are always bits and pieces, that are imperfect. The ones that have browned petals, or are too short, or just grow with a bend in the stem that doesn’t fit in a bouquet well. And yet they delight my heart, when I gather them up, and make tiny bits of beauty all around our houses for days after the event is over. I think about how God takes our bent places, our not enough, our blemishes, and makes something beautiful from them. I am so thankful to serve a God like this.

Meet the scrumptious pink xpression rose! She is a medium pink rose ever so slightly brushed with a warm coral center and perfectly ruffled like a regular garden rose or peony. She was the perfect show stopper for a special birthday brunch!

We recently had the opportunity to do an installation on a ring, which had been on our floral bucket list. The bride wanted the wedding to have a simple rustic prairie feel, and chose to use a lot of gathered grasses, along with burgundy and white roses, and touches of navy. We were also thrilled to have the opportunity to use anemones with their navy centers. It was a gorgeous wedding, on a lovely windy Oklahoma day!

My sister and law and niece were in the grocery store with me shopping, and treated me to three bunches of flowers to get to play with. Since I didn’t have any supplies with me, I used rubber bands from the packaging to create a frog, and a kitchen steak knife to trim stems. I just love using veggies, aka cabbage, in floral arrangements, as they add such an interesting twist.

As we gathered grasses for our next wedding, the strains of this song kept floating through my head. I kept thinking how unbelievably beautiful it was to glean from literal fields of gold, and how lucky we were to have the opportunity to use all these riches to bless the new beginning for a sweet couple starting life out together.

Our latest wedding was filled with swoon worthy peach Tiffany roses paired with white and soft yellow centered Mayra garden roses, hydrangeas, sheer peach carnations, and simply bursting with hypericum, lisianthus and a variety of other lovely florals and eucalyptus greens. So many shades and tones of peach and white!

We used a beautiful fall plate to transport a bridal halo, and it reminded me how thankful we are to have the privilege arranging flowers for weddings. It always makes my heart happy to see a room full of flowers, just waiting to be transformed.

Five years ago, a sweet gentleman named Luis, proposed to our beautiful niece Jacqueline. She said “yes”, and asked Angela and I, to help do florals for her wedding. Her colors were clean and simple, white and greenery, with touches of gold. We began harvesting everything we could find to add the touches of gold throughout. Tulip poplar pods, burst into “tassels” for the backdrop behind the cake, river oats rippled across the wedding backdrop, and wild rose hips glimmered in the table lanterns. Our gleaning turned out to be such a gorgeous wedding.

Constance garden roses, greenery and heads of wheat were chosen by this bride for her southern wedding with a beautiful old church as a backdrop + reception hall. The bouquet was a striking contrast against her ethereal dress and simple, yet lovely drop veil.

For this wedding we were able to move the large statement bouquet from the hexagon out side, to the backdrop for the reception. It really popped against the barn wood walls of Venue 105, and made for some beautiful photos of the wedding party table. .floralartistry

We have the best kept secret in Southwest Missouri, our friend Lacinda Linch, of Lacicakery, who bakes the most delicious cakes, that are a perfect canvas for arranging with fresh flowers. Especially when we get to use such a beautiful color pallet. The bride choose pastels, and lots of creamy white, and it was so perfect for the outdoor spring reception. It was a perfect evening, with trees draped in lights and floral arrangements, soft music, family and friends, and a beautiful, sweet bride and groom. .floralartistry .co

Sometimes, you have to work with what is available, and for this wedding we fell in love with a new rose. We had hoped to use burgundy peonies, but they were not available. These rose were a dream to work with, and perfectly popped against all the peaches and creams. It made the most stunning brides bouquet. .floralartistry
