✨Kismet, Bashert, Fate✨

Today couldn’t have possibly been a more amazing day.

So lucky and thankful for the stars aligning just right while up visiting family on my yearly Jersey trip, I was fortunate enough to go visit and attend their author event. I can’t thank enough for posting about it and encouraging me to come and join in on the fun! Getting to meet Nat in person and listen to him read Nestlings was an experience that I will keep tucked away in my horror loving heart forever. And I was able to meet so many of y’all today to! 🥹💖

Getting the opportunity to meet the people who keep deepening my love for stories, bring me closer with this community, and inspire me to create my own art in this community is something I hold so dear and irreplaceable. And getting to meet so many of y’all in person today too just had me 😭💖 (I promise one day I’ll learn to be cool about meeting y’all, but just know I am still shocked people buy my art and are excited about what I do and make. So every time one of y’all are excited to meet me just know I am probably like 2847584x excited back because holy cow what an honor someone so cool out there exists THAT THINKS I’M COOL TOO 🥹). I’m so glad we all got to be spooky together!

New year means ✨New Taco Tarot✨

This years card is THE TOWER. This card is commonly associated with sudden and unforeseen change and I know many of us who remember the Taco Bell establishment eateries of yesteryears have too, suddenly and unforeseenly lost many change to their own tower.

Anyone else get a nice THICC stack of books to carry them into 2024? 💚✨

Hardback books are my favorites to display. I love having them in my house. They give me ✨the most✨ Buster Bluth vibes “these are my awards mother, from Army”.

No one else in my family get is but MAN do they look pretty standing next to each other in my living room and I love HORRIFYING all the company that comes over as I lift my favorites off the shelves to talk about what lies between their covers 😏.

Number Two in the choice awards for horror BUT NUMBER ONE IN SO MANY OF OUR HEARTS🏚️🧡

’s How to Sell a Haunted House was by FAR one of the only books I have ever read to GENUINELY scare me while still ticking all the boxes on what horror truly means to ME. (The week my daughter learned to open doors and reading the squirrel scent will forever be a cautionary tale in our house. IYKYK🤣)

This has been one of my absolute favorite reads this year so y’all know I had to make a little somethin’ somethin’ cause “it’s all Grady” over here babes. So here is a little tribute to one of my favorite scenes 😜.

Happy 2nd birthday to my “not-so-little-as-it-once-was” baby business 🥹💚

If there ever comes a day that first photo doesn’t make me cry just know I’ve probably died 😅. I can’t describe the amounts of happiness and pride I have for this little baby of mine and it wouldn’t have been possible without all of you!
As always, special thank you to my spooky dads , and for encouraging me to sell my art in the first place. My spooky moms & .horror who truly helped me find my home in the horror community and welcomed me with open arms. To my mom and for always being my market booth babes and w/ for stepping up and filling in and teaching me when Stacy has to live her own life (rude I know 😂) and my dad for making sure we stay alive and hydrated through it all too 🥴. To , , and for being some of the best body doubles and best friends a girl could ask for and may the DFCC long live with our combined brain cell 🤣.
And last but NOT AT ALL LEAST thank you so incredibly much to my amazing husband who although he doesn’t have insta somehow will see this post (probably cause I’ll end up reading it to him later 🤣) who I would not be able to do ANY of this business without. When the corporate noose finally got too tight, and every time going back tends to look like the gallows, you make sure I have every opportunity to make my dream a reality. And I really sincerely hope that over the last two years I have more than made you proud. This “little business” doesn’t come easy and it doesn’t come without sacrifice and I’m incredibly thankful and proud of everything that’s been achieved in two short years.

Thank you everyone, I really can’t express how much getting to do all this means and the impact every single one of you has had on me. Just know all of you are irreplaceable to me and I am ever so grateful that even for a moment you took a chance on me and believed in me and my dream too.

And honestly whether you read it and love it like me, or take a dive and discover it might not be your jam, the fact that this baby is out there in the world and SO MANY PEOPLE have heard of it, is pretty bad ass. HAPPY AUGUST!!! The time is finally here y’all!! (I know I’m posting this on the second, but seeing as the first is a national holiday for those of us who are Swifties please forgive me 😂).

I’m so excited for this months read. Reluctant Immortals by has been on my TBR for a HOT minute (and honestly with a stunning cover like that HOW COULD I NOT PICK IT UP??) and I KNEW it was the first book I wanted to kick off the Double feature Creature Crypt with.

I went to school for English and always found I was happiest when I was connecting themes and texts in literature to the influence it has today. That’s why this club isn’t a book to screen adaptation viewing party or something similar. There are so many stories out in this world that allow us the beautiful ability to not only to entertain us but to truly teach us more about the human condition and what it means to LIVE and how we all connect to each other in this crazy world and through vast amounts of time and space.

It’s crazy, it’s wild, and it’s humbling and exciting. And I want to share my love of that both in books and movies with y’all!

Today I’m feeling super emotional.

While having my coffee this morning and participating in my morning ritual of checking my Timehop to see my personal growth and memories over the last few years I was hit with this image today.

3 years ago I laid out the first plan I had for Kayleigh Creates. Back before the amazing and encouraged me to follow my digital art skills and before I teamed up with and fell in love and found my identity among the horror crowd and booksta community. Kayleigh Creates began as a way for me to share my passion of communicating and connecting with others in fun and exciting ways that makes people feel truly loved, seen, and special. Snail mail has always made me feel that way and I feel few things can say “I love you” as powerfully as a handwritten note.

A lot has changed over the last three years and much growth, sense of self, and identity has been found as I have found what this business is and who I am along the way.

But one thing I have learned for sure— if the there is any is anything that Kayleigh Creates does and does well (and I pray will never change) is the ability to create a community of people that support, encourage, and inspire each other along the way. I’m just so lucky that the things I make are able to be a beacon to bring those people together 💚

Growth is wild and cool.

I tell you what, never have I identified more with a quote in this book than when I decided to take on the challenge of attempting my first sprayed edge design. You really only get one shot to do it right and boy howdy can it be nerve wrecking! But it was so incredibly worth it!! Look how gorgeous this copy of the Final Girl Support Group turned out!
