Yesterday was a great day for the Saint Thomas Dulcimer Group playing at Fort Hunter, it was a nice crowd and we had a great time playing as always. Our group is open to playing at other events. We play a variety of music from Celtic, Hymns, Folk and Fiddle Music, even some classical pieces.

Workshop scheduled for Oct. 4th at 3:00p.m. This is a 5 foot Fall and Winter Theme sign great for outside on your porch. This workshop is limited for 10 people. One side is fall and the other side is for winter. Workshop is $45.00 for each sign and includes all materials and light refreshments. No experience necessary. Ages for 15 and up younger ages with adult supervision. Preregister by September 27th buy calling 717-432-8449 for more information. We are also taking reservations for groups.

June 21-22 2024 10-2 We will be open for harvesting the Lavender,

See the Lavender in bloom and visit the farm for a delightful thyme.

Hop on the Tractor/ wagon ride from our parking area for a short ride to the Castle, where you can visit with the many animals on the farm, view the garden areas with where the lavender and many other flowers are blooming. Enjoy a refreshing flavored Ice coffee (Lavender included) or a Lavender lemonade. Cool off with a Lavender flavored Ice Cream. Our farm shoppe is open with many Lavender gift items, and Natural foods to choose from. Potted Lavender plants and other Herbs and flowers available.

Make and Take Classes offered --- Learn how to make a Lavender Wand, or join the Essential Oil blending Workshop, $8.00 each class Lavender Wreath making $55.00, and Children of all ages can enjoy making a lavender filled sachet -$3.50

Okay only 1 day till Lavender Thyme Faire, Visit our animals, Donkeys (Ruby and Rosie), Alpacas (Wolfie always like to venture out of the pasture), Goat (Lance), Mini Goats, Mini Horses (Gypsy, Charlimine, Wi******er, Rabbits, Ducks, Chickens, Doves, Cats (but they always seem to stay hidden during our Faire), and Mac our big horse is always ready to greet people especially if you have a carrot or two to share with him. New item this year are Warmies. You cant take our animals home but you can take a reminder of your visit with a Warmies. These are soft plush animals and yes filled with Lavender of course.. There are several animals to choose from.

The seasons change on the farm with the changing blooms From Dogwood to Cherry to the Lavender. Our English lavender is blooming and with more varieties following. This should be a great year for our Lavender Thyme Faire the Lavender will be blooming at its best this coming week.

I love spring time and seeing the Tulips especially. They remind me of my Grandma Doyle and her many many tulips that she planted. We have only started planting tulips, I'd like to see lots more, they remind me of our family trips to Holland Michigan, when I was young to see family and The Tulip Festival. Great memories. We only a a few this year but I can't wait to see how they fill in.
