EDIT: Their family was located and dogs returned this morning. They had just been trying to follow their mom to town apparently.

On my way home tonight, in the middle of nowhere, miles from the nearest house in either directionI found an intact male English Mastiff and a medium sized bully breed of yet undetermined s*x. They are in the laundry shed with water for the night and I will try to figure oit what to do with them tomorrow. Im afraid these sweeties may have been dumped 😭

Fresh flowers are slowing way down here in the mountains, this week there will be no bouquet bar, just a few mixed bouquets and bunches.

I'm experimenting with a new style of wall hanging, I added the flowers fresh and used my commercial dehydrator to dry it in one night, then added the lichen and twigs to finish it off.

Did you know that the rose has only been associated with love and romance since the Victorian age? Before that, either the Marigold or Calendula were the flowers of love and marriage throughout most of the world due to their association with light, the sun, divinity, and seasonal transition. Marigolds, native to South and Central America, were first thought to be the same flowers as Calendula by early Europeans, and as they made their way across the globe many of the same attributes associated with Calendula were given to Marigolds and are still celebrated as such in many cultures, including India and much of the Mediterranean, to this day.

The ball type form of dahlias is the most perfect form, while I adore decorative and water lily nearly as much, there is nothing more reliable than a ball type, naturally long sturdy stems and a naturally longer vase life than other forms, balls are a new farmer's dream.

Eugene/Springfield based performer friends and or photographer friends, I wish to try my hand at wearable flowers using hydrated fresh flowers on extra strong wardrobe tape. Hello local Eugene area friends, I'm looking to trade blooms for buckets!

Specifically cool metal buckets.

I have a few weeks to pull this bouquet bar together and I'm trying to both save limited funds as well as upcycle as much as possible.

Do you have an old leaky metal bucket you don't need? Would you rather have a beautiful bunch of fresh local flowers than this old peice of junk you wanted to do something cool with but realistically you know you might never get around to doing the cool thing?

The best part is as long as it can be picked up without falling apart it doesn't have to hold water, I can throw a liner in it to use. I can use any metal bucket from 5 qts to three gallons, that is at least ten inches tall.

First Flower Crowns of the Season went out to these lovely Faeries yesterday for Beltane Weekend!
