There's a special place in my ❤️ for rustic, crusty bread!

It has this supernatural ability to both elevate a meal-to tie it together, but to tenderly touch the soul. It's humility incarnate. And yet, it transcends its own meager existence, reminding you to hope again...that everything is going to be ok.

Bread is the sum total of flour, sugar, water, and just a little yeast, married together in a hot oven. Perhaps some butter and egg, if you're feeling extravagant. Even so, at least to this chef, it's everything pure and good in this life.

It's a mother's love. It's a child's wonder. It's the long embrace that reminds you who you are, and affirms everything you dream to be. It's a father, grinning from ear to ear whispering, "look at you go".

Maybe that's just me. But, today, and every day...I pray you feel that same love! ❤️
