Feeling the energy and seeing the event industry buzzing again these past three days in the city made me so happy. I absolutely love seeing all my fellow event industry and hospitality folks back at work hustlin. Whether they were a DJ, caterer, bartender, event planner, waiter, party rental, lighting company, or anything else related in the event industry, I loved seeing everyone out working making that money. Reminded me of the good ol days before the pandemic. It was a great feeling to see everyone working in our industry again.

Wedding couples most common request these days is for me to fade out the song early for the father/daughter, mother/son and their first dance dance. The first dance is not a big deal to me but fading out the other dances, I find this to be kinda sad. I get it that they don’t want to be dancing up there with people staring at them for 3:20 seconds or more. I get it that it may be weird dancing with your parents, especially for Asian families.

But they also don’t realize that this may the only time they will get to do something like this with their parents ever. If my daughter gets married someday, I plan to dance with her for the entire song. If they have an extended version of the song we’re dancing to, I’m going to ask the dj to play that version for me. LOL!

A common question we always get is, should we have our monogram on the floor or wall? This photo demonstrates why you should always have your monograms on a wall. Contrary to popular belief you do not want it on the floor. Benefits of having it on a wall: 1) You’ll be able to appreciate and get most value of your monogram for the entire event. 2) When it’s on the floor, once dancing begins you will not be able to see it and appreciate it any longer because it will be covered by people dancing. 3) Monogram patterns or designs will project onto clothing for anyone who’s dancing on the dance floor. This can ruin any special dance photos like the first dance photo seen here. 4) Unless the lighting or video projector is mounted up really high or perpendicular to the dance floor shooting straight down from the ceiling, the monogram design can become skewed/distorted. This is called keystoning. So always project monograms on a wall, not the dance floor in order to have the best results and most value for your money.

We had @jblenzzz and @ghostdragonmusic at Dublin High’s Senior Graduation Banquet at the San Ramon Marriott this past Friday. They kept the dance floor movin all night!
