Heads up! The La Plata County Extension Building is getting a much-needed new roof!
The Extension Building will be closed to the public, now through Monday, December 1, 2025 (pending weather or construction delays).
During this time, Colorado State University Extension-La Plata County, W**d Management, and the La Plata County Fairgrounds and Event Center staff will be working remotely. While we can’t accommodate walk-ins, we’re still available by phone and email.
Appointments may be available depending on construction progress — call 970-382-6468 to schedule.

Other Fairgrounds facilities remain open!
The Exhibit Hall, pavilion, arena, and outdoor spaces are unaffected.
This may also affect school pick-ups and drop-offs.

🚫 RV Park Reservations Closed for the Season 🚫

We are no longer accepting new reservations for the La Plata County Fairgrounds and Event Center.

✅ All existing reservations will still be honored through October 30th, when the RV Park officially closes for the season.

🚧 And so it begins… 🚧
Roof work has officially started on the La Plata County Fairgrounds and Event Center - Extension Building with the initial delivery of materials! Please expect the closure of our building in the coming weeks. The office staff will be working remotely from home at some point during this construction project.

For everyone’s safety, access to the building is temporarily restricted while the crane is in operation. This may impact school pickup today, so please plan accordingly and do not enter or cross through the construction zone.
