Want to start a tulip feature of the day. Each day we will put up one of the varieties of tulips that we are growing on larger quantities this season. Most are field and crate grown but some are being hydro or soil forced for early blooms (like Valentine’s Day).

First up is Icoon double peony style tulip. This gorgeous red/orange kinda reminds me of Christmas thus this is today’s choice. It’s absolutely beautiful and pairs with so many other tulips. We should have some Icoon blooming in a a few weeks and then again for valentines.

I was so excited when I was able to order La Belle Epoque as it is an incredibly beautiful tulip that everyone seems to love (I have not grown before myself). Then, I got a cancellation notice for the bulbs ordered which was not surprising given the issues and conditions in Holland this year. Today- an entire crate of La Belle Epoque bulbs showed up. I was so excited to see them and they really look gorgeous.
