I was so excited when I was able to order La Belle Epoque as it is an incredibly beautiful tulip that everyone seems to love (I have not grown before myself). Then, I got a cancellation notice for the bulbs ordered which was not surprising given the issues and conditions in Holland this year. Today- an entire crate of La Belle Epoque bulbs showed up. I was so excited to see them and they really look gorgeous.

First group of hydro forced tulips moved out of rooting and under grow lights tonight. Hoping these will be ready just in time for Christmas. Third succession of 4 varieties of tulips going into rotting/cooling. Thank you for such beautiful bulbs and for such fantastic education.

Low tunnels are up and the flowers are ready for some super chilly temps. It’s always a little nerve wrecking fall planting these little baby seedlings when there are such chilly temperatures. But come early spring, I’ll be so grateful I did.

Today has been a hard and sad day for so many. Listening to my patients cry, worry and process was incredibly hard today. I feel a huge sense of sadness thinking about what may come in the near future. My flowers have been a source of happiness this year for me and so many customers. I made some beautiful bouquets last night to re-stock the shed and I think they would all bring some light into the homes of people who may be hurting right now. If you need a bouquet and cannot afford to purchase one, please come get one. Passing on the beauty brings me so much happiness.

I have a lot of heirloom mums, marigolds, lilies and eucalyptus but that’s about it. Should I purchase in some flowers from Piedmont Wholesale Flowers this week to keep the shed open this weekend? I was planning to stop fresh flowers once the current flowers sold out, but I’m wondering if people could use some bouquets over this next week? Let me know your thoughts, let me know how you’re doing. Come by the flower shed!

I’m super excited to receive these beautiful peony roots and get them in the ground. These were all ordered as 3 to 5 I roots, but they are huge unhealthy and each one has so many more eyes which is incredibly exciting because that means we are further along in the growth process of the plant.
