Our Story

The Handel's welcome you to celebrate Catskill Mountain Thunder - a motorcycle event like no other. It is held at Blackthorne resort, a beautiful family-run resort, nestled in the Northern Catskill Mountains of New York State. Scenic rides through the Catskills, an amazing concert with national headline acts, great regional bands, motorcycle games, weekend-long bike build-off, fabulous vendors, wall of death, motocross act, fire breathing, spaghetti wrestling & more ... a must-see event that has to be experienced to understand just how much fun it is :-) . Come join the mischief, we always have room for one more shenaniganator! The office is open nearly every day to call for information or reservations 518.634.2541. The Phoenix bar is open much later of course, particularly on the weekends and during events. the bar has a tavern menu for grabbing some good grub & during large events the kitchen and dining room are open as well. ---| BACKGROUND ON BLACKTHORNE BIKER EVENTS |-- Blackthorne hosts 3 motorcycle events all year Two (2) smaller events, motorcycle runs in April and June that give CMT peeps practice time for the the big event, the full blown festival event in September. APRIL & JUNE April and June are Bike Runs with local music all weekend, rooms are available first come first serve and campsites are available depending on weather in April. SEPTEMBER - Catskill Mountain Thunder Motorcycle Festival The real-deal, the Catskill Mountain Thunder (CMT) Motorcycle Festival is mid-September every year featuring national headliner bands & entertainers, a field full of vendors, bike games, tattoo shows, and of course runs through the scenic Catskills. ** call the office for reservations & price info 518.634.2541** EVENT OPERATIONS This is a family run operation that relies on entertainers, staff and volunteers that each year do their best to keep everyone smiling, we cannot thank them enough for the amazing effort they put forward each year. We are a go with the flow, family of friends and we look forward each year to seeing everyone.
