It's always fun digitizing film from Delmarva's local history.

Most of our customers choose Marsh Video because they like the idea of bringing us their precious memories in person, versus sending them off in the mail. What many people don't realize is we are very competitive price-wise. I have a customer who brought me eleven videotapes. I was able to condense them into four DVDs. Since she had ten or more tapes, she received a 10% discount. Our prices were almost identical when comparing her final cost to the pricing from my biggest online competitor (whose initials are LB).

Most old movies are silent, but you can add your own narration describing people and places near and dear to your heart. Call Marsh Video at 410-822-9010 or 410-829-9763.

I am constantly impressed with the quality of most Kodachrome slides. (Paul Simon was right.) This one is almost eighty years old, taken during World War II. There's just something about the longevity of slides. If you have a closet with a box of slides and have no idea what to do with them, give us a call at 410-822-9010.

We always encourage our clients to cull their slides before bringing them to us to digitize.

Most of my clients just want us to digitize their films and produce a nice, edited movie for them with titles, music, etc. We also offer what we call a watermarked "review copy". The client gets the unedited digitized film on a DVD or USB. They get to review the film, decide what they want to be included in the final production, arrange the films in their preferred order, and supply appropriate titles. They are charged 75% of the projected final charge for the edited production. When the review is done, they email us their edit list. The watermark is removed after the editing is completed. I don't think any of the online companies offer this service. Plus, we do this locally--no need to mail it away.

More and more people are asking me if they should get their memories digitized to a DVD or a USB (thumb) drive. The main advantage of a DVD is most people (especially older folks) still have DVD players and only want to watch their movies on their televisions. The downside of a DVD is it can be damaged easily, if not properly taken care of. As more people are investing in smart TVs which have USB ports, a thumb drive is the way to go. Also, amateur video hobbyists can easily edit their footage on their laptops or desktops, (Marsh Video does not charge for a USB if the customer provides their own. We do keep a supply of thumb drives on hand, however.)

Just finished digitizing about 500 slides for a customer and this is my favorite. Who's a good boy? (And how the heck did the photographer get these two Chessie pups to sit still?)

If you want your videotapes transferred to a DVD, for a discounted price, you can choose to combine more than one tape on a disc, as long as the total number of minutes is 120 (two hours) or less. Why pay the same amount for a five minute video versus a two-hour tape? Here is a quote from one of our online competitors: "Please note that if a tape has even a few minutes of footage on it, we will convert it into a digital video. The processing for shorter tapes is the same as longer, so conversions are charged per tape, not based on the length of footage." Send us a pm for pricing.

Just because our name is Marsh "Video" doesn't mean we don't work with other media. Let Marsh Video digitize your old films, slides, photos and negatives. (How many family pix do you have of one of the kids doing rabbit ears behind another kid's head?)

Some nice wedding 8mm film Marsh Video Productions recently digitized. Film deteriorates quite badly over time, so don't waste a minute giving us a call at 410-822-9010 to get your family films digitized to USB or DVD. Go to www.marshvideo.com for more information. https://youtu.be/mu8AryuAPds

Such a wonderful memory.

All goes well until a baby shark is caught (and released, of course).

I heard an ad on the radio this morning that the predominate online media transfer company is having a "big sale" right now on their tape transfers. Just the digitizing. DVD and USB cost extra. However, if you want to get them back before Christmas, you'd better get them in the mail now. Their free shipping is 10-12 weeks. (You can pay a hefty fee to expedite them.) Or you can bring them to Marsh Video Productions where our normal turnaround time is usually two weeks or less.) Also, our pricing includes DVDs (no extra charge) or USB if you provide a device. Why take a chance on mailing away? Give Marsh Video a call today or send us a pm. Our tape sale is 10% off through the month of September. (Ten tapes or more. Mention FB for the discount.)

Although we convert film, slides and prints/negative to digital, we get more requests for videotape transfers. This little clip is from one of our own VHS tapes from over twenty years ago. Give us a call at 410-822-9010. All work is done in our studio--never sent away like the big box stores and pharmacies do.

Wow. What a mess!

Bridal chain Alfred Angelo, according to the Wall Street Journal, is planning to file for bankruptcy protection, and it closed all of its locations, leaving future brides frustrated and worried.

Since over 30,000 people have enjoyed this little video at this point, I thought I would share it here for anyone interested in seeing what the Delaware seashore looked like back in the sixties.
