We are three weeks into the New Year! There’s something I’ve done different this year for Future Ashley to appreciate next new year! I also can’t take credit for this as one of my friends posted it to their story & I decided to do it!

Once a week you write something happy or exciting that has happened, put it in a jar, then at the end of the year you’ll have good things to reflect on! At the end of every year I think it is human nature to reflect on bad things because it’s easier to remember the bad things and unfortunately, sometimes they outweigh the good things. Next year I’ll get to look back at the good things and have a positive mindset for what’s to come! 🥰

Say it with me: 🗣️ lighting is everything! 🗣️

Flat lay detailed photos are one of my favorite parts of any wedding day.

I pushed myself in 2025 to learn more with flat lay detailed shots. I truly felt like I learned so much on my own. But second shooting with only twice has already taught me so much. The key to these detailed photos was absolutely the lighting of the location & settings on my camera! I thought I knew the best camera settings for my editing, but Marissa has helped me so much with tweaking it just the slightest! It has definitely paid off. Feeling very blessed this new year! 🥰

I am taking in all the opportunities to learn and grow in this community. Thankful for my friend who loves sharing her knowledge. Second shooting is a fun way for me to help with not only some creative things, but to grab behind the scenes photos that you wouldn’t normally get with only one photographer. Every detail of the day matters. Every person at the wedding matters being a second allows me to help the main photographer get these extra shots when their main focus is on the bride & groom and it helps me learn more as well. And editing for fun is always a plus! I am excited for new opportunities, more learning, and taking a step back to enjoy the little things during each and every wedding I photograph. Whether I’m the main or the second. 🥰

A peak into Isabel & Brian’s intimate Halloween wedding 🖤💜

When Isabel & Brian inquired about their Halloween wedding I nearly jumped for joy! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and it was my first ever holiday wedding!! I could have cried. It was the most perfect day. The past few years it has snowed on Halloween and they were blessed with some chilly weather and clouds, but NO SNOW!! 🥰

Allow me to reintroduce myself…My name is Ashley Enfield Photography!! 🤪

New name, rebranded website, new hair too, feeling all sorts of new and ready for 2025! I’m thrilled to introduce myself with my new name. I’ve had this in the works for quite some time and I am beyond proud of my name change! My full maiden name being Ashley Nicole Smith was extremely basic (lol thanks mom) and Ashley Enfield just has a ring to it 😉

For those of you that may be new here, I am a 28 year old Elkhart, IN based photographer, yes I do travel!!. My main focus is couples and weddings but I also love photographing families! I picked up my first camera at the age of 16 and the rest has been history.

I am recently married as of November 9, 2024 to the absolute love of my life. Going through the wedding planning process myself has given me much more knowledge with weddings and I love helping my clients with planning questions!! I have been with my husband since 2020 and the past four (almost five) years have been nothing short of amazing. We have a corgi named Link, yes after the video game, and a cat named Jules. We adore our little family. My husband and I are big gym people and enjoy focusing on our health and wellness. You’ll see a lot on my stories about food and my three emotional support drinks I have at work with me everyday 😂

I decided to start my business in 2020, with a little push from my husband. Since then I have photographed many love stories. I have gained so much knowledge in this industry. It is wonderful to have a partner that supports your dreams. He is always cheering me on and sometimes will tag along with me to capture behind the scenes moments at my sessions. Running a business is difficult, but having a partner that supports your dreams is something else. 🥹

Well I will stop rambling I guess. I am excited to see 2025 unfold. I’m ready to capture more love stories with new faces and old faces. My favorite part of this business is sharing beautiful moments with all my clients. 🥰

I know we are just barely getting started into winter but I am so over it already. Tell me why I already caught a head cold! Sore throat, headache, ect. This weather is too much for me!

Take me back to this Indianapolis October day. It was warm, sunny, all the good things. Stunning venue, even more stunning bride!! 😍

I absolutely loved spending my day second shooting with Marissa Rae Photography and can’t wait for more opportunities to shoot with her. My husband and I’s wedding photographer turned into good friend. 🥹❤️

Tyler & Trinity’s wedding was just breathtaking. A warm, sunny October day. ❤️

I met these two earlier this summer, they drove so far to come to my beach minis to have some family photos done. Recently engaged with the cutest lil baby boy - who btw was the sweetest most calm lil man I think I’ve photographed thus far. Since that day Trinity and I stayed in touch. I was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their day. Their engagement session from August is still one of my favs I’ve ever done!

Upon arrival to the venue I couldn’t believe how well thought out and how gorgeous their day turned out to be! It was a shock that they had only been planning a few short months! It’s been wonderful getting to know Trinity over the few months we’ve known each other. I had a blast photographing their day. What a day to remember! ❤️

If you are looking for a barn style venue for your wedding I highly recommend . I had the chance to stay and chat with the owner, Amanda after the wedding. We had a wonderful conversation. I had the opportunity to learn about the venue. Her husband Jon has worked endlessly to ensure the utmost quality for all events held here. I adore photographing Haley&Braxton!! This is our second time working together and each time is such a blast, and honestly never last long enough! I could spend all day with them! They have the kindest souls and bring so much joy to our sessions. This time they brought their baby, Zuko with them and it was obvious he fit well with their little family. 🥹 he is adorable and extremely photogenic!!

If you needed a sign to bring your pup to your session, this should be it!! 🥹❤️

One thing I’ve been focusing really hard on this year is flat lays for detailed photos. I’ve struggled so hard in the past with over thinking how they look, not getting good lighting, not lining things up to where they make sense in my brain, I could go on and on.

I’m here to announce that I think something has finally clicked in my brain to wear everything is flowing better. Giving myself more time at weddings for the brides that want flat lays has helped tremendously. Plus adding to my detailed photo props has helped as well. Playing with different lighting situations has been SO much fun! I knew exactly where I wanted to set up at for these shots as soon as I walked into this venue.

To say the least, I’m obsessed with how these turned out! ✨

The Triana Family ✨

My last fall mini session for the year! I had such a wonderful time creating memories with all the families that allowed me to create with them.

For the Triana family, this was their first ever photo session! Honestly, you wouldn’t have even guessed because they did amazing!! We had such a fun time together. Playing in the grasses and letting their little one take some time to get to know me. She was definitely a little unsure, but of course she was smiling by the end. It is so rewarding to have kids get comfortable with me around when the last thing I’m sure they want to do is take photos.

Im already looking forward to next years fall minis and I can’t wait to show you guys more of what we all created. 🥰🫶🏼

The day may have been gloomy and windy, but their love made magic and turned the gloom to beauty. We all made the best of the weather and were thankful it stayed dry! (Besides the joyful tears of course) It was such an honor to capture their day. 🫶🏼

Are crooked photos the new trend again?! 🫣 it feels wrong to include crooked photos in galleries!! But I definitely think they’re kind cute 😬😂
